Man, I like the new Escalade but this things pretty ugly IMO, at least from the front. Why do manufacturers always give their EVs such goofy design language?
Curious to see what kind of range this thing gets on the highway, being shaped like a brick and all, 15% lower drag the a brickier brick is still not great. |

Oh look, yet another overweight, overpowered, oddly styled, and expensive EV!!! When is an automaker going to make an affordable ($40K) EV that has good range (300ish miles), clean styling, midsize car size, doesn't weigh 4000lbs+, and accelerates briskly (i.e., 6 second 0-60)? I think the base Model 3 is the only car on the market that offers that and that car has been in production since 2017.

As much as I hate EVs for sporty cars, I love the idea of EV for a big luxury SUV where comfort and smoothness is the objective.
I like the exterior, but Cadillac has always lagged behind in interiors. Their interiors are showy but the quality of materials has usually been pretty weak in my experience, even the newest Escalade has a fancy looking interior but with subpar materials. Will be interesting to see how this compares to the upcoming Porsche 3 row EV SUV. That'll undoubtedly be more expensive.

As shown price is $175k 😂
I know car prices are going up and I’m not in the position to spend $175k on a car, but there are numerous other vehicles I’d rather spend that money on. Owning a loaded i4 M50 and X7 40i ($175k for both) sounds much better than spending $175 on a Cadillac. Or if you are going for one vehicle - loaded Porsche Cayenne or G wagon. |

lol @ $175k. So nearly $200k with taxes for an Escalade. These will be worth $60k in 3 years.

I'm not sold on the styling, the regular Escalade looks better, but I'm sure it'll have curb appeal in real life and sell well

GM confirms $130,000 Cadillac Escalade IQ won’t have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto | GM said it was going to drop Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in all vehicles, and now, that includes Cadillac’s latest EV.

I think there are a lot of people who would be better served, and live a more enjoyable life, if they didn't HAVE to drive absolutely everywhere...but that's all we're getting. More increasingly boring cars to make you feel slightly less guilty about driving absolutely everywhere.

I live in the Northeast, in a town of about 50k about 75 miles from Boston, but with all the amenities like coffee shops, home supply stores, Walmart, etc. within 10 minutes. I was out west a couple of weeks ago and stopped in a gas station to ask where I could find some plastic storage bins and it was suggested that I drive 45 miles to a Walmart. To me, that would be living not close to anything.
