Hi.

I have a BMW 530xD from 2017 and I love it. Buuut there’s one thing I don’t like, which is that it doesn’t have paddleshiters like my old F11 had. I know its kinda dumb, but I love using it.

Note: *I currently have the m-sport steering wheel, just without paddles*

I want to buy a steering wheel with them on, but i’m unsure if it will work on the car, since it wasn’t fitted from the start. Is it just plug and play, does it require coding or wont it work?

Would be really dumb if it didn’t, but i’m not keen on dropping 1200€ for a steering wheel which may not work.

Depends on the wheel model and air bag. I had to have my coded.

My steering wheel looks like this. It’s the pre-lci version where there’s the extra black plastic going to the airbag.

Does that mean that I have to find a steering wheel from the same gen? Because I quite like the lci wheel. It has a cleaner design and nicer buttons.

Can I code it on Bimmercode or is more advanced coding required?

Looks very sick, but it’s not really the look i’m going for. And I dont have heating in the steering wheel.
