MPPSK 540i
Hey everyone, the dealer i ordered my car from says the power and sound kit should compatible with my car however when price checking with another dealer they emailed me and mentioned that BMW have halted the production of performance exhaust for cars built after JUNE 2018 due to a new ‘Petrol Particulate Filter’ in the system which the previous performance exhausts are not compatible with.
Anyone heard about this? Thanks |

The Dealer i bought the car from says he's 99% sure he can still get it fitted. So i am quite confused to be honest. I guess I will find out when the car arrives soon.

Hi guys, I've just taken delivery to my 540i and was informed by the dealer that they are no longer able to proved the MPPSK on newly built cars due to the car being a Euro 6. Now my question is, what other possibilities are out there in the UK?

I guess its a extra cat to comply with new emission standard. By installing the kit, you eliminate the cat, so they stop making it.

Yeh unfortunately nothing is available at the moment for late 2018 cars. For now im getting a tuning box from TDI tuning which bumps up the power by 60 bhp or so. Hopefully soon enough an exhaust system is made.

I’m only going for the mppsk to get an exhaust that vents from both sides all of the time! Seems a little excessive but I am not wanting to force open the exhaust valve on a new car and would be concerned about any issues arising so have opted for the kit, I’m sure the extra little bit of power will be nice though.
I looked into the mpe only but the full kit was not much more. |

Going for the MPPSK just to have an exhaust that vents on both sides seems excessive, no? Can't you code it out (or have your dealer remove the flap)? I can't quite remember, but doesn't Bimmerlink code that out? Seems a bit much having to pay nigh on 3-4k€ for a mod that will otherwise take a mechanic <30 mins? What I used to do prior to my MPPSK fitment was tune the sport individual setting to sport engine, sport steering and comfort shifting and then press that every time I start the car - voila! Exhaust is open on both sides. Having said that MPPSK does a lot of other things and is definitely worth its asking price, but that has already been discussed extensively here.. |

Yes excessive isn't it, however I very much doubt the dealer would remove the flap and I wouldn't have a clue about coding etc. If your method works (which I'm about to try) you may have saved me some expense so thanks.
With regards the cost , I have managed to source the mppsk and fitting for a good price locally so it's not too bad. |

I think I saw in another post about a way of having the flap open and then pulling a specific fuse which causes it to stay open. Might be worth checking it out. Very ease approach.

It is perhaps easier to see it on a cold start, press sport individual before you’ve started the car and then watch the exhaust pipes. If it comes from both then you’re all set.. |

Well, it seems confirmed that for now, at least in Sweden, the MPPSK is not available any more due to the introduction of gas particulate filter.
Whether this changes (dunno) and if it affects rest of Europe (likely, as GPF is a EU wide initiative) would be interesting to follow up on. Seems like the power kit is available on its own? |

I got information last week that Power Kit won´t be able to fit either. No information on any updated kits either. Seems the door is closed for cars with GPF |
