Drive recorder in iDrive 6

Hi guys,

Does anyone have this working or has any idea how to do it? My father was hit earlier today (he is ok) by another car and I realized how useful it might be to have it recorded.

I have 2017 G31 with iDrive 6 and Parking Assistant Plus with 360 camera, so it would be shame to add more cameras to the car when they are already there.

Can't do it with ID6. ID7 is required. Different hardware design and ID7 OS is different flavor of Linux.

As Claykin mentioned, requires ID7, but here's how you do it.

Does anyone know how sensitive the sensor for recording is when the car is parked and locked? Does it register parking dents?😇
