Will BMW do scheduled maintenance in advance of the interval ?
Hey BMW owners -
That time of year is here again, summer road trip planning ! I have a question about warranty oil changes that are done every 10k. My M550 has had it's oil changed at 1100 and 5000. Right now I've got 8800 but am planning a trip in July and when I return I'll be at about 12500. I'd like to get my warranty service done before I leave, but I kind of doubt the dealer will do it approx 1000 miles early. Anybody have any experience with dealers and shortened intervals ? Thanks!

CBS will alert 1 month or 1300 miles early. So they would do it 1300 miles early. There might be more wiggle room than that too.

If dealer doesn't agree, I'd do the oil change myself. And since BMW apparently calls for 10K-mile OCIs, I'd do a middle 5K oil change myself. On a side note, how can you reset the oil change warning if you do the oil changes yourself, like I plan on doing? I don't care if they're included; I've always done my own maintenance, since nobody does it like I do. And will continue doing it while I'm physically able to. On my BMW motorcycle, I bought a 'GS-911' device to reset the maintenance warnings, but is it something similar for the cars? I remember looking into that with my ex-M3, but got rid of it before it was necessary. Thank you guys.
