Dinan Springs on 540i?
Anyone have the Dinan springs on a 540i? Mine is not M Sport, but not sure that makes a difference. I like the description that they provide a pretty conservative change in height, increased handling/decreased roll, and also maintain a comfortable ride. Can anyone comment on that from real experience?
I've also seen good things on here about MSS, but seen less on Dinan. For what it's worth - my motivation is on handling and body roll reduction. I don't care to lower it too much and want to maintain some of the daily comfort. Thanks

Let's bump this as I can't be the only other one curious about this. At least the second 5 series generation where Dinan has been more "selective" than other brands. Has anyone defied the description and put Dinan springs on something other than a 550? From what I've read their springs plus the bump stops are just what I want for my car, expect they aren't for my car. But can they be?? MSS says all G30s, why not Dinan? Currently in '19 540 xdrive and actively looking to improve the stance and firm up the ride

I have contemplated doing these for a while and have recently put it on the back burner permanently after I scraped going over a speed bump as slow as I could possibly go. It's only a 0.75" drop, but my car rides lower stock than yours, so you may be fine.
My motivation is the opposite of yours. I would be trying to improve the stance. As much as I would like to improve body roll too, I honestly do not think a 0.75" drop will be dramatic. This is straight from my shops mouth on body roll. So I personally would not go into it thinking it is going to handle like an M3 after. Coilovers would be a better option for this. It's also VERY invasive and the labor is over $1,000. Trunk needs to be ripped up, back seat taken out, rear speaker deck removed, C-pillars removed.

The MSS springs look like a nice option for improved handling with adjustable height. But that would be 5-10% of the cost I spent to buy the car. For me, that's too much for a modification that I frankly don't need. For that kind of cash outlay, I'd rather do the axle back exhaust or have a set of summer tires/wheels.

I have them installed on my 2018 540i and have put close to 20k miles on them. So far, I really like them. Not too low, but definitely a noticeable improvement in handling vs stock with no real change in ride quality. I'm also running 245/40 and 275/35 on OEM style 759 20's with 17.5/20mm spacers.

I’m closing in on 35k miles since install. Still zero issues or complaints with the Dinan springs. I did just recently order F90 comp sway bars for the car and am awaiting their arrival. My car is RWD. I don’t know about fitment on Xdrive cars unfortunately. I’m located in the Durham area, about 35 minutes from VIR. |
