I sent an email to the Service Manager this morning asking him to look into how my vehicle was damaged on Friday and I wasnt notified until Monday. We'll see how that goes..........before I go deeper.

And go figure, i'm getting a vibration in the steering wheel and floor above 60mph, so after all this bullshit it has to go back in.
I personally would want a new wheel since they damaged it. I would be shocked if they didn't oblige. If they say no, I would write a letter to the North America CEO. I know it's a pain in the arse, but that's how I roll. I've done this with Dodge, GM and Nissan with great results. A dealership experience isn't supposed to be stressful. I also do a detailed walk around video and pictures before dropping my car off at the dealer as well.

Are you positive the scratch happened on Friday? Do you know when the 9 miles were driven yesterday? Could they have been before the scratch was reported to you? Just suspicious, if they did it Friday, why not tell you Friday? That said, the pic you sent me does look to perfect of a scratch to be curb rash.

I curbed a wheel and had it repaired. The repair was pretty good, and the damage was my fault. I chose to have it repaired instead of paying 3x for replacement. But when I wash the wheels, I can still point out where the repair was. My point is that the repair made a huge 90%+ improvement. But it's not like it's 100%. If the dealership damages part of the car and it can't be returned to 100% pre-damage condition, I think they should replace that part. Maybe that's asking too much, but I don't think that would be a unique standard.

Last thing - no one has mentioned anyone being "aggressive", cussing anyone, or trying to have anyone fired. The consistent position has been that a face to face conversation over this experience would be warranted and appropriate. Acting as if that's out of line is ridiculous, in my opinion. If I owned the dealership, I'd want to know about these things and smooth them out on the front end. That's what successful customer driven business is all about.

Friday was when the tires were mounted. So that's why I assume it happened then. Even if it were Saturday, I think the customer should be notified immediately. I heard nothing until a text at 0725am on Monday. I've got to stop dwelling on this. It's getting me more upset...LOL

I purposely wrote down the gas mileage til empty and miles when I dropped it off. The tank had 105 miles til empty. When I was driving off the lot it went into reserve with 50 til empty. But yea..........nobody drove it hard at all.

I used my W&T insurance to repair a very minor rash that I did not notice on delivery. I agree, it's 90%, but at the end of the day, wheel repair is spackle, sand and paint. It's filler and it definitely doesn't clean off the same way as metal. The 2-3 inch area that they filled takes some extra care to remove dirt. It's like it's porous.

I agree, get a new wheel out of them. I also agree that no one is saying to go in there swinging and dropping F bombs. Just be unhappily on record professionally and make them react. Make the dealer do 'something' for this instead of a $50 (their cost) fill and sand.

You'd think they'd have caught this during their post-fix test drive, since the obviously had it out long enough to get it up to highway speed. At least.

I figure, let the service guys do what they need to do to FIX the car. If the car isn't fixed... well... now I'd be pissed, too.

If it is any consolation Mark, I can't remember the last time I went to the dealer and:

1
Got it back same day even for minor shit.

2
Didn't have to bring it back because the repair wasn't repaired.

I have gotten used to it.

So I mentioned that I have a vibration above 60. Immediately he says, "well those tires vibrate when cold at highway speeds" .....ughh

Bullshit. I pretty much have the same rubber. They ride like butter from the minute I start the car. If you are feeling it in the floor, it's a rear wheel/tire issue. Rear issues can cause the steering wheel to shake too, but if you feel it in the seat, definitely the rear. Make them road force balance them all again. Sound like they didn't have the brightest bulb on the tree since he didn't know how to use the machine that strips the tire and damaged your wheel. I am guessing they are not balanced properly.

Similar to the line in the BBC department store comedy "Are you being served":

"And don't worry about the sleeves--they'll ride up with wear."

These guys are something else. An answer for everything. I've never heard of such a thing. Never experienced anything like this. Reach out to the manufacturer and let them know what the dealer said. See what they think.

I guess the next question is, do they still vibrate when they are "warm"?

I definitely feel it on the floor. The steering wheel slightly vibes too.
I will have to bring it back I guess. Only drove it for 10 minutes yesterday, so I have to get it out for a nice cruise once this weather clears up.

One thing for certain. They are 100x better than the Eagle Run Flats. Everything is so much smoother. Bumps and cracks in the road.....cant even feel them now. Below 60mph its as smooth as a caddy.

They drove it 3 miles on Friday and 9 Miles today. I actually have a screenshot from this morning showing xxx52 miles on my remote 3d view feature.

The thing that REALLY got me worried is that my Idrive home screen was set with the M Racing tach and G Force meter. Someone had to program that into my Idrive for sure. I may be overreacting, but I'm thinking of emailing the Service Manager to look into this.

I'm so paranoid now that I'm going to look for a small GPS tracker that hopefully logs speed and locations.
You are absolutely not overreacting. I would crack some heads in if some morons at the dealership thought it was okay to put 12 miles on my car, unless they were trying to diagnose some difficult issue, doesn't sound like that was the case here. I would lose my mind....maybe I'm overreacting. I think a mans ride is sacred and you don't screw with it.

Okay now that I have had a second to regain my composure. I would bring it to the top and ask who thought it was a good idea to put 12 miles on your car. It wouldn't be through an email either...face to face. I would not give them and easy way out. I'm an ahole like that. This is the kind of crap that makes me nuts about dealers.

Some may discount this kind of stuff..."It's just a car".... Eh? That's just a lump on your head! LOL

One thing I liked about our Jaguar is you can track the journey of the car...exactly where it went and also track average speed. I was kind of disappointed that BMW doesn't have a similar feature. Also disappointed that valet mode doesn't reduce RPM's or reduce HP.

Thie icing on the cake would be that you now find a used condom on the back seat...okay now I'm being ridiculous. I bet you're going to look now!
yup, we found out that the dealership took our range rover velar 45 miles while it was in the shop for a week. we showed the manager that the employee driving it took it to a bank, and a coffee shop on the way back. they initially denied it but we showed them the GPS log of the trip. they comped the service charges and we haven't been back since.

you can always grab an apple air tag, or get a dash cam that's hard wired so they can't unplug it.

Definitely getting something. No more joy rides for them. I'm leaning toward dash cam with mirror mount.

I may have "solved" my tire vibration issue. Was just in the car re-coding things that got zapped by the new software update. The idiots set all 4 tires at 55psi. Probably for a leak check and never reduced the pressure.

That is just too many miles for comfort. Coming from someone that use to work as an SA at a BMW dealer, the most my techs would drive for a normal visit is no more than 2 miles, at most! Unless it's some special circumstances where we would need to drive the vehicle further, we would get customer authorization.
Even after all that, I still don't trust people if I were to drop off my own car. Nowadays people just don't care about other peoples possessions. Anytime I drop off my car, I always make sure the front and rear cams are on. Never know now days.
