I must be getting old..

I have had my m550 for about a month. Went from an m3... and I'm enjoying the comfort...

It's actually pretty depressing... 30 years old...

I am actually 50% older than you and I still relish the moments I jump into my M3

It is such a raw, visceral experience, especially with the cup2 tires, it always makes me feel alive. But then I choose the weather and roads accordingly.

Talking about highway driving or daily commute? The 540 all the way FTW!
So, age is not just a state of mind, but also related to accumulation of toys You obviously should have one of each!

Yea I can't even see myself buying M3, if I want a toy I'll get Porsche, day to day 540 is perfect in my opinion

Edit: and if talk to the 25 me it would be M3 no brainer...

I am an 18 yr old trapped in a 71 yr old body! Sold my M4 last July after three years and have no regrets switching to my M550i. More comfort, a little less handling, but still 3.9, 0-60! Just like a sore peter, can't beat it!!

Don't get me wrong, no regrets here on the switch, just feel a little more grown up when driving what my wife calls it a grand-pa car.

When you are driving a 7 you feel a lot more grown up. When you are driving a 7 and you are 72, it is not just calling it a Grandpa car. Is IS Grandpa's car.

Same here.

Was looking at some family photos earlier this week, included a picture of my father in his retirement. I thought he was old at the time, then realised I'm now the age he was in the photo.

Seriously! Just did the same thing at age 69. Love the M550i. No regrets whatsoever. M4 was great, but very raw for a DD. M550i is very quick, no wheelspin, awesome comfort, and that B&W stereo is fantastic.

Yep, me to, but I even have a couple of years on you. The brain keeps writing checks that the body can't cash. Love my 540xi, as I did my 535xi. But to keep up with my youthful brain, in nice weather I drive a Corvette Z06 which according to GM will cover 0-60 in 2.95 seconds. As old racer Mickey Thompson once said, "too much horsepower is almost enough.". And while I think 650 HP is, nevertheless, enough for me now, it is hard to beat the comfort and general competence of a 5 Series. The Z06 is admittedly a bit challenging to get out of gracefully.....--Bob

Funny thing is the F80/82 was my “dream” car to have when they came out, and when I was finally able to afford the lease of one I went and got a G30 M550i instead. Haha

I feel your pain Bob! I had a 2014 C-7 Z-51 (my 9th vette) by quickly got tired of the entry/exit gymnastics! Enter the M4 and now the M550.

So far I am still OK with the gymnastics, as I have a set way of getting in and out that seems to work. But I can see that day looming over the horizon where it will be too much, and my wife is not really too keen on her struggles in and out. Soon we'll have to get an engine hoist and take the top off to get her out! The M4 is definitely easier to get in and out of and does offer excellent performance.--Bob

Drove MINI Coopers for better part of 10+ years so a nice and comfy BMW was in order.
