Replaced interior mirror, FLA stopped working
I've had interior view mirror with high beam assist camera, but without Homelink.
Purchased used mirror with camera and Homelink. Install was straight forward, all same connector pins. First drive was fine, high beam assist was active (didn't however had a chance to engage high beams). But next day right after starting the car I've got error message that camera is not working. High beam assist consequently is not switching to automatic mode. Homelink still works fine though. Is there any coding required to marry new FLA with the car OR I've just got a bad unit? |

Today error was disappearing for short periods during my driving and I was able to switch on automatic high beams mode. So I guess it's really something wrong with the unit, maybe bad contact. I will be replacing camera from my original mirror to the new one. It has a separate connector. See if it helps. |

So I replaced the camera with the old one. Was very simple, camera is on a little board separately from the mirror wired through connector. Both boards looked identical though.
Now everything works, no errors, high beam engages, tracks cars normally. For those willing to add Homelink convenience it is simple and straightforward and I'm happy about this retrofit. |

Hi
I'm found a used mirror, ec/led/gto and homelink. But mine mirror also has FLA, do you think highbeamassistant camera fits? Last edited by PeteM5; 06-07-2020 at 12:28 PM.. |
