No drill front mount license plate

So just got my 540, is there any consensus on what's the best no drill front mount license plate. I don't like the off center solution, I'm OK with having license plate in the front (i.e. I don't need some complicated hiding mechanism that folds in and out), I just don't want the drilled hole.

Based on some search I see,
1. tow hook mount, which I think are all off center, so pass

2. 3M double side tap, sounds attractive, but seems like a bit dangerous in terms of falling off, and not sure how easy it will be to remove in the future

3. magnet, given bumper is probably non magnetic I imagine one would have to remove the bumper, glue strong magnet on one side, then use another strong magnet on the other side, personally don't want to go that route since I have no garage in NYC, no where to do that myself and not sure if the strong magnet would affect any electronic given so much sensor in the front

4. saw this guy online
https://www.slybrackets.com/store/
though curiously based on his website it's say 2019 540 doesn't fit but all other 5 series fits, i.e. 2019 550 fits, 2018 540 fits so is 2019 530 etc. (which leads me to think it's one guy doesn't know what he is doing), anyone has experience with these?

Just for reminder, you can't use them if you have ACC.

Two of the 3M options I have seen people doing are

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...F0WJ9BIO&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...UG1YLI2I&psc=1

first one says it's removable, so I suppose that's a plus, but didn't see any instruction

For now, I’m going without (yep, required in Ca). I did an unofficial study while waiting for my car and noticed that approx. 5-10% of the cars in my area of so cal do not have front license plates. I also see 50% or more on their phones. Both illegal. Police dont seem to mind. If I ever get a ticket, I’ll likely go with toe hook mount for a secure mount.

So you can't use them. Would cover your radar sensor in the middle.

oh and now come to think about it kind dumb on my part, already wrap the front bumper with XPEL so I guess 3M option isn't going to work anyway...

and of course this won't work either, guess I can try 3M with XPEL around on it...?

looks like one more solution
https://skenebrackets.com/

this one you can mount up so above the bottom grill to "mostly" avoid ACC, though not 100% sure, has anyone tried?

Do you have park assist as well? For off center mount ACC is probably not an issue but can see park sensor false alarm that part

Just my $.02.....but, IMHO, the off center (and often crooked) tow hook mounts do not look nearly as good as centered and drilled.

You should be able to use 3M Automotive tape just fine. When I did European Delivery for my F80 M3, the front EU plate was 3M taped by the Factory. It was on my car for just over 6 months before I finally put my US plates on. Removal was not an issue and there was no damage whatsoever.
Just make sure it is a good quality 3M Automotive tape.
Vinyl adhesives (like stripes and graphics) adhere just fine to XPEL film so I'm sure 3M would adhere as well without any issues.

It's a sin to have a front license plate on a BMW. It is law in Texas; however, it's not really enforced unless they're looking for reason to pull you over.

I recommend 3M dual lock. Nothing will hold your license plate on better than that. You can pick it up on Amazon, Home Depot, and other home-improvement stores.

3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener TB3550 250/250 Black, 1 in x 10 ft (1 Mated Strip/Bag)

a bit too late, drilled already, oh well next car...

I think maybe next time I'll use the 3M options just not sure if it was really secure, or alternatively just install something only for street park only, but I can just imagine the s*it I'll get from my wife every time we have to street park

I race motorcycles competitively at all of the racetracks in Texas through the CMRA and I use 3M dual lock to hold my LapTimer on my gas tank at speeds of over 160 mph on the straightaways. It doesn't move or shake. It's like Velcro on super steroids. All of the racers use it for their LapTimers or GoPro's.

With that being said, your license plate could easily be removed with a little bit of effort. Trust me, if you decide to use this product next time your license plate will not move unless you want it to.
