Bimmercode Expert Mode

I have a 2018 530i. I bought an OBD and the full Bimmercode software so I could recode a few things. The most important to me was to code the easy egress option. That's when the seat goes back upon opening the driver door to make it easy to get out and goes back to the recorded position when the door is closed. There isn't an option to code that in standard mode and I was wondering if it can be done in Expert mode and if so, does anyone have a cheat sheet for Expert mode for my car?

I just did it using Bimmercode. Look under "seat module driver." The "seat travel" must be less than the "protection area."

Hi
Can you share which OBD you got and where did you buy it from. Very interested to know if you were able to finally get the easy entry coded and working. Please keep us posted, I'm thinking of doing the same.

Mine is a 2021 M550i so a slightly different model but still a 5 series.

Thanks!

Try Veepeak OBDCheck BLE/BLE+.

Bimmercode works with F & G series 5-ers.

Started with a Veepeak. It had very limited access to coding. Then got the recommended OBD LinkCX. I was then able to access all the options that displayed but there was no option for coding the driver seat. I reached out to an on line coding outfit (codemybimmer) Their reply was that they haven't had much success with this feature on the G30 chassis. I'm betting it can be done in expert mode but I don't know how to use it without a cheat sheet.

I just got VCLinker MC to use with Bimmercode on iOS to code my G31.

It's a bit slow loading and coding, but I dont really have anything to compare to, so might be the same for all.
No problems with it yet.

I use the MHD Black (WiFi), and it's super fast and shows all options.
There is also the modBMW which is essentially the same hardware.

All those dongles can be used with BimmerLink, Bimmercode, BM3, MHD, MG Flasher and xHP.
And work great on my girlfriends F31 as well....

Is it a default coding option now? Or in expert mode? If so what is the parameters to change?

I did it more than a year ago using Esys but it also made the backrest of seats steeper which made ingress and egress much more uncomfortable The parameters I've modified are related with M5 seats that maybe the reason. So I'll appreciate if you can tell me the parameters you have changed. Thanks.

I have the OBD LinkCX. Started with the Veepack but that didn't work as well. I think the one I have may do what I want in expert mode. I'll try following the instructions in the link above when I get back home in a few weeks.

I got the OBDLink CX from Amazon. There is no way in standard mode to code easy egress/entry (at least for my car). I found a YouTube link that was supposed to guide you through Expert Mode to code that option but I couldn't do it. It still amazes me that BMW doesn't have that as a standard feature. It came standard in my 2009 Infiniti and my 2013 Murano.

I honestly don't remember. IIRC, "Seat Module Driver." Ignore the seat heating description. After selecting SMD the easy entry options are there. This is Bimmercode. Looks like the expert mode route is CFAS_PLX_1.

As did my 2000 Lincoln LS!

Are you using Bimmercode?

Holy cow, 20+ years ago I owned a 1999 WS6 TransAm, and I had a handheld obd device where changes can be made to the car. Deleting engine codes, changing rear-end gears, tire size changes, etc Does anything like this exist anymore? I must be getting old, because all this coding talk sounds scary !
