Loving my iPhone 13 Pro Max and iOS 15. Zero issues here. Apple Carplay is actually a lot faster too.
I saw Twitter going HAM few weeks ago everyone complaining lol. You probably got lucky
Or I just don't do the same things on my phone as others. Pretty much:
Apple Music
Facebook
Tapatalk
This App
Email
Maps
Spotify

And the other usual stuff. All apps working fine for me. Waze is always an issue for some. I don't use it.

That's why I'm always cautious on recommending a .0 release and definitely not a beta unless I know the person is tech savvy. I'm a Software Engineer so running the bleeding edge isn't a problem for me in the slightest. I can work around bugs if I need to or revert to an older version if I need to since I have backups and all that jazz. But a regular user is less likely to be able to do so.

iOS 15 has been pretty solid for me as well. I've encountered a few bugs, but I wouldn't call them showstoppers for my workflow. I am aware of online complaints of impacts to other people's workflows though...

Ideally we'll get 15.1 next week and macOS 12 as well.

I think successfully taking advantage of the lemon law in any state for what you are experiencing is going to be a big stretch, especially since it involves and is interdependent on user competency and third party hardware, i.e. your Apple iPhone.

That said, things to try:

Have you tried deleting the Apple CarPlay pairing from your car and trying another iPhone in the household or from a friend?
-I haven't but will try with my wife's iPhone.

You should DEFINTELY be running iOS15, especially since it includes a new version of CarPlay. To take is a step further, try iOS 15.3 beta. I'm running it and it's fast and flawless.
-I just did the upgrade last night to 15.0.2

Are your disconnects happening at the same place or places? There are dead spots out there that will just crash wireless CarPlay, don't ask me how or why, but I have a few a few.
-no, nowhere specific

Thank you for your help!

Thank you for all the tips everybody! I updated to 15.0.2 last night so we'll see how it goes. I also made note of all the other suggestions so will try those if the update doesn't do the trick. I'll be back with the results.

Yeah, I am just a tech gadget junky. I used to spend more time building, upgrading and benchmarking my windows box machines than actually using them for computing. I am not happy unless I am playing with things or upgrading. It is very similar to cars!

I went Mac about 5 years ago. I don't take my machines apart much anymore and they just work. I run Windows at my company (fiber optic engineering) because we have to given the software we need to run and it is so annoying. There is an update and a reboot daily. As you know, with that frequency it is because of security and/or bad quality control.

I updated from iOS 14 to 15.0.2 yesterday and then I noticed significant improvement in CarPlay regarding how quick CarPlay can show up on the screen. Before I had to wait for probably 30s at least for CarPlay icon to show up and get in, last night after upgrade it was instant.

Hopefully iOS 15 is the cure to Op's car.

Tidal is the one app I use without exception in the car that stopped working with iOS 15.

That is until 5 mins ago, where, without any action on my end, it's working again.

How do you like Tidal? Can you really notice the higher bit rate when using it via Apple CarPlay?

I haven't read all the replies but, I would make certain to use an Apple Lightning to USB cable and NOT a generic cable.

I am also latest Apple Beta and always a beta tester for the iPhone. No issues on CarPlay. I would definitely give the beta a try if CarPlay issues keep happening.

Just make sure to backup first to a computer and then become a beta tester. Worth a shot.

Apple CarPlay in BMWs is 100% wireless. Cables do not come into the equation. Sure if you are plugging your car in and using the car's iDrive interface then I would always recommend an Apple cable. The OP is having issues with Apple CarPlay.

OK, my Chevy 2500, CarPlay is wired. It might work wireless too, I just never tried it.

I don’t use Tidal, but wireless CarPlay doesn’t support lossless so probably not. You can hear a definite difference using lossless via CarPlay and via the USB port in the center console via Apple Music lossless.

Yup, I've got the USB stick in the center compartment and the quality over Bowers and Wilkins is nothing short of amazing. Head and shoulder over streaming. But the interface sucks.

I have every streaming service. Apple Music, Pandora, Spotify and as of this morning Tidal. Ranking in terms of audio quality

USB
Apple Music (by far the best streamer)
Spotify
Pandora
SiriusXM (not streamer but sucks)

I understand the limitations of wifi and Bluetooth for streaming, but if Tidal sounds as good as Apple Music or better, I'll give this a shot. Apple Music's interface is disappointing and it's ability to suggest based on your listening is non existent.

If you have Apple Music set to lossless and plug in via USB and select the phone as the media source (can be done with CarPlay active if I remember right) you will get audio on par with a USB thumb drive with lossless files.

On a B&W I imagine that would be sublime.

I subscribed this morning for the HiFi service. Had issues with Apple CarPlay out of the box with blank screens, I am sure you are familiar. But then updated to the Beta 4 released yesterday and all is good. Need to add some content and crank it up on the drive home tonight. I do like the Web interface a lot. Very clean. I will be doing my adding and subtracting via browser.

Let me know what you think about the streaming quality.

Yes, I know(remember my comment on being a tech gadget freak, should have mentioned audiophile), but:

1
I don't like wires, this is why I loaded my lossless library via USB.

2
The interface sucks as mentioned on the USB.

B&W definitely earns it's price tag on lossless music.

We’re very similar

I’m hoping that now that Apple is on a lossless push they’ll update CarPlay to handle lossless and BMW will support this once it is added.

I am not sure this is ever going to be possible with BT5 and Wifi that are similar in terms of bandwidth. It's going to take a new BT standard to be able to stream lossless wirelessly, but one can hope. The other issue is that 90% of the public thinks BT streaming sounds great, so the demand may not be there for lossless wireless support.

Now, if Apple CarPlay could support a USB device as part of the interface, that would be sweet, but that ain't gonna happen.
