Eibach springs and full Eisenmann/Dinan exhaust installed on LCI M550i
Hey folks,
I just got my car back from having Eibach Pro Kit springs installed, as well as a Dinan midpipe + Eisenmann axle-back with black Le Mans tips on my new to me M550i. I couldn't find any great pictures of either when I was researching products so hopefully this is helpful for someone in the future. Happy to answer any experience questions you might have. Cheers, -Ash |

No problem!
One thing you should know about the exhaust is there is some drone, centered around 1,850rpm. It's not horrible, but it's enough to make me want to try a couple things to combat it. I'll be reporting back along the way. |

I should add that by adding a cg precision valve controller, default set to open, the drone is now gone. As expected, it's a reflected wave resonance.

I'm very happy with the ride on the Eibachs, particularly after I installed F90 sway bars to further reduce body roll.
I drive in Sport suspension mode permanently as I find it has the best matched damping to the Eibachs' spring rates. One rebound after bumps, no more. I would only get the MSS if you want to tweak and perfect the ride height. From a performance standpoint, I don't think it's worth the additional cost. |

I can kinda see why M division don't use the dynamic roll bar and rear wheel steering. You as the driver never really know exactly what the lateral spring rate or steering angle is going to be for any given turn. This would be frustrating and unpredictable at the limit.

I agree. DHP is an amazing set of technologies that makes a ton of sense for 8/10's driving. Where dynamic settings can become a limitation of sorts is in the last 2/10's. When you are driving at the edge of the friction circle, you need linear predictability.
But that's not how the M550 was intended to be driven, so I get why DHP exists. |

The drop is perfect, well done. Looking into these for my 2019 but Eibach states the m550i pro kit should not be used on vehicles with EDC (electronic damping control) which the m550i all have, so I hesitate. Are you having no issues, why would Eibach advise against it? Really appreciate any feedback you can provide.

TBH I think the bigger issue is how eibach makes this kit for basically all G30's regardless of engine, and I think this kit was tuned for the 540i. The reason I say that is because the front drop is a little more than the rear which you should be able to tell from the pics. This makes sense since the V8 in the M550 engine outweighs the I6 in the 540, but the rear ends aren't that different. If I were to do it again I would personally go with MSS so I could tune the ride height, or just go with Dinan springs designed specifically for the M550, as I think those have a bit higher front spring rate than the Eibachs (again, because of the target load). That all said, the Eibachs are the best deal out there for a good drop and pretty good road manners. I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting them if they check all your boxes. |
