Maximum torque on ZFGA8HP75

Hi guys,

Was going to use Celtic tuning for my stage 1, as I previously used them on my F10.

However looking at their projections they give 330bhp and a massive 794.5 NM on the 530dx.

While the BHP is inline with most other companies, their torque figures seems considerably higher, as most are around 700NM

So that has me thinking about, can the gearbox handle that level with ZF rating it as a 750NM box.

So I had a look at what box inside the m550d, which is rated at 760nm, according the real OEM it’s the same GA8HP75 as the 530/540d.

Interestingly, the new M340d uses the GA8HP76 box, however I can’t find any max toque specs for that.

Would also be hesitant to have the Celtic map installed due to the torque rating ?

It’s the same gearbox I believe as the M5, and some of them are running >900nm without issue. Remember the 750nm is the rating for 10x1000s of miles, and if exceed it things will wear out quicker.
