Its not the raspiness, its the fart sounds upon high load, no pun intended

No blow off or bypass valves on the S55. It's the excess pressure routed through the exhaust. Not sure you can eliminate that without going back to an older setup.

They never fixed the issue with s58 either,

Why don't they add a blow off valve? Why is it so hard to make modern S engine that sounds great?!

Midpipe definitely helps but still gets a bit piercing up top. Like other said, it's going to be hard to hide that sound. I've learned to accept it - the car is too much fun to be upset about that one negative.

As for people complaining about burbles, that's remedied with a tune to remove over-run.

I wonder if every M2C has it's own unique exhaust sound (as compared to other M2Cs) at any given identical load/acceleration, RPM, outside temperature, humidity, etc? Or, are we all different (like finger prints)?

Why is Akrapovic so expensive compared to others?
And will there be an MPE for the M2 this year?

Awesome my car starts production May 20 week . Do you think they would have time to directly install it( save money this way? Would it sound exactly like the M4 MPE?

not sure about the sound but MPE does not remove the low hanging muffler, just makes it a bit narrower

I think you guys have summarized why I don't dislike the M2C sound and am underwhelmed by the M2. I love the raspiness at RPM. I also don't care all that much what it sounds like at part throttle at 2k. I want something raw, raspy and unpolished at high RPM when I'm getting on it. The rest? Ehh

What you need to realize is what your hearing inside is ASD , its not what it really sound like outside

I almost chose the M2 18 lci just for the sound, but had a great deal on 2020 M2C .

Figured there would be an exhaust in the near future that would sound Deep Lionish like the n55 I loved.

Anyone know what I'm looking for?
I don't thing the m performance exhaust would do it.
Very easy response! The active autowerke signature exhaust is the solution you are looking for. The only exhaust for the S55 that gives it that deep muscle sound you are looking for. The OG M2 has 6 cylinders into a single twin scroll turbo, solid sound similar to B58. S55 is a twin turbo with dual exhaust and AA sig is only exhaust to go dual headers to single huge tube from cat all the way back to muffler. This gets rid of the alternating turbo resonant frequencies and shits it all into one huge pipe out, resulting in a similar but better sound than the OG M2. I see notes about ban_m2c videos, they don't do shit for the sound. They helped me make the decision but a whole diff world once you get it on and drive. Can't recommend it enough. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want more info?

Who sells it for 900?

But remember the N54 was the same layout as S55 (twin turbo, twin separate exhaust). N54 went in the 1M coupe of course. N54 sounds nothing like S55.

How do you account for that?

I came from an N55 M2 to the M2C, and solely miss the MPE on my M2. Even with the AA mid-pipe in place, it cannot replicate the deep throaty sound and burbles the N55 produced. I guess it's the price to pay for dual turbos = more power.

lol... i love my m2c and i think it sounds great! i have the AA signature exhaust on order... super excited and cannot wait to put it on! the s55 has its own distinct sound, and to be honest i think it sounds great with any exhaust on... maybe that's just me. just accept the fact that its not going to sound like an n55 or whatever...

i came from a m235i and i had dp and exhaust on that, sure it sounded great but i'd take the m2c allday errday over a better sounding n55...

m2c is the best 2 series at the moment, i guess until they release some more hardcore model cs or whatever if that happens...
