Hello Everyone,

My name is Michael and I just ordered a new 2023 M550i X-Drive a week or so ago. I don't have the production number quite yet. I sold my 2018 Audi S6 Prestige yesterday, so the wait begins.

I went with the following build;
- 2023 M550i X-Drive in Phytonic Blue (C1M)
- (LZFK) Black Nappa Leather
- (ZDY) Driving Assistance Professional Package
- (ZHO) Shadowline Package
- (ZPK) Parking Assistance
- (ZPX) Executive Package
- (4KG) Grey Ash Grain Wood Trim
- (453) Front Ventilated Seats
- (4T7) Front Massaging Seats
- (1R9) 20" M Bi-Color Wheels 846M w/ Performance Run-Flats
- (3M2) M-Sport Red Calipers

Did you order DHP (Dynamic Handling Package) ?
It's definitely worth the money.

Thanks Mark. I did not opt for the DHP package. I plan on doing some lowering springs and I was told you can’t lower the car with the dynamic handling package.

No problem! Your car, build it as you want! DHP does lower the car a bit, adds rear wheel steering and several other things. I'm sure you looked into it and made the right decision.
Was Bowers and Wilkins available ? I really wish I had that audio system.
Someone recently ordered a 2023 and said B&W wasnt even available now. That would suck if true.
You're real smart getting the 2023, It will be the last ICE run on the M550. Probably a nice Collector model.
The 2024 will have that new S68 engine that will be in all M and M light V8 vehicles. But I would never buy a first year engine/car. Wait for the bugs to be worked out. Here is a link to the new motor in case you've not read up on it.

The 2023 build sheet does show the upgraded audio as an option, but I just went with the standard Harmon Kardon sound system…I’m sure it’ll be better than the Bose that was in my S6.

Great news. Thanks for confirming the B&W is still available.
I have a BOSE surround in my SUV. There is no comparison to HK and Bose. The HK in the M550 is MUCH better.
You can also bimmercode the B&W sound stages (concert, live, studio, etc) onto your I Drive/HK system.
It makes a significant difference.

Excellent. I already use BimmerCode with my MK5 Supra, so definitely looking forward to doing some coding on the M550.

I absolutely LOVE the Supras. Especially the 90's ones. We have a local shop here in Nashua NH that produces several INSANE Supras closing in on 2,000HP.
I've driven behind one of them on the highway. It sounds more like an Airplane or something non-vehicle like than a car. LOL
They also are actively tuning the New Supras as well. I see them all the time. As well as weekly Lambo's, Ferrari's, etc..

They recently pulled videos from the Web because (i'm hearing) they're going for the world record Supra 1/4 mlle. If you want to search them, the company is called Go Auto Repairs.....or Go Auto. I forget which one. But the last run they publicly posted on a street legal, parachute driven Supra on the strip was insanely fast.

Yes. Here is the 2023 build sheet and the B&W option is at the bottom right hand corner (6F1)....However, I just noticed that it states EOP next to the option which I'm guessing means "End of Production.

Here's a quick look at the build, although I believe the Phytonic blue is a little more subdued as to what is shown in this pic. I was going to go with a BMW Individual color, but it would've added upwards of 6-months to a year to the build and I don't have that kind of patience.

Congrats on the build. I recently did same in Skyscraper. Can compare notes as we go through production together.

Phytonic blue is fantastic on larger car (x5/5). From the build sheet it seems bernina is gone as well which is what I'd like on my customized car. Looks like I will have to find a used one on the market

Hello Michael, from another Michael. Congrats on the new car, that looks like a great build. I have the B&O in my B7, and although sometimes it sounds fantastic, other times it has too much subwoofer and sometimes it just does weird things. I think you will be just fine without it.

I tried to order a M550ix last year but couldn't get an allocation, so I bought the B7 instead. I still think about it though... knowing that the engine is going to change and the interior will likely follow the new "design language" dashboard/instrument panel that the other cars are getting would also make me want to get a 2023 before it's too late.

My work firewall blocks whatever image hosting service you use, so please feel free to attach images to your post rather than linking so that I can see them.

I will also be curious to read any thoughts you have comparing the 5 to the S6.

So, I just cancelled my Phytonic Blue 2023 M550i build because the dealer I ordered from was waiting on an allocation. I was able to secure an allocation from another dealership on a 2023 M550i currently in production...An almost identical build except in Alpine White.

This M550i went into production a week or two ago and the dealership is telling me they expect the vehicle to be at their location between late August / early September. I'll be buying this M550i.

Shoot, I don't know how you guys are getting all of these builds. All of the dealers I talk to around here say that they have no allocations, and several said that they don't expect any this year. Bummer.

I can give two dealers that I know have allocations. One is currently being built and it's a 2023 black on black and the other is an open slot, but they're charging $2500 over MSRP.
