start the car and off I go. Generally running late for my train. It is either idle time or sleep time. And sleep always wins

I have cold start turned off on the car thanks to the tune. I normally let it run for about 30 seconds to 1 minute before setting off

I don't wait until the car is warm (registering above 0 on the temp gauge), but I start the car, play around with various settings, and then drive the car. So about 30 second, which is right about when the cold start cycle finishes.

As do I. However, the car is still new to me, and the moments I take before clicking to D are used for fastening my belts and scanning all the gauges

(aside: Why do American manufacturers spell it "gage"???)

to make sure I have everything the way I want it, radio, A/C temp, etc. Then I have to pick my way around the borders of the alien compound I live in, and across a shopping center parking lot, to get to the main street. Car is warmed up by then unless the weather is below freezing, and probably even in those conditions.
