Question about Adaptive Led lights

So I picked up my 2018 530e last week and have noticed that despite all the info and videos on the Adaptive Led lights with the headlight assistant, my lights do not do the trick where they follow the cars and create a wall of light around a vehicle. The only thing they do is turn on automatically and turn off automatically.

Is there a setting I've missed or something to enable this feature?

Thanks in advance.

As others have said, I know it is disabled in the US; not 100% sure about Canada, but may be true for whole NA market.

But if you're not seeing that behavior, it's probably a fair bet it's the same case for Canada. Others have said it can be coded, but at the moment it's not trivial — probably will be easier for non-coders to have done once the coding community reliably figures out and adds this to their routine stable of features.

Found this. so looks like once it is approved in the US, Canada may follow.
And hopefully BMW can then just via a software update, update those cars already in existence with that functionality

It is disabled in North American market, but can be re-enabled if you have 552 LED's. Though, be aware, there are about 220 changes required.

Dot Laws are being changes, but there is a delay in implementing turnover. BMW is not known for updating vehicles to add vehicles, but only time will tell if something can be officially done by dealership.

You are correct! It's just a decode so once the law is changed it should be as easy as taking the car in to the dealer and them decoding the decode lol

Hopefully it happens soon and they don't charge for it.

It will be another year. And, no way they would not charge for it.

That's too bad. Either way I am going to find someone to decode it. I just don't want to be the guinea pig lol

Please let me know when you have successful results with the G30. Much appreciated.

Reverting back to Factory can always be done.

Do you think if one needs Full Adaptive LED headlights, since even the regular ones are LED based and with DAP pkg you get KAFAS camera.

Depending on packages you either get Fla or Kafas camera.

If you can come down to Miami on the 17th or 18th, I'll code the lights for you.

on older models the lights themselves lacked some hardware for the antidazzle feature. Do the new 5 series lights have that hardware?

On F010 with 552 LED, hardware was not lacking. Software prevents decoding.

G12/G30 with 552 LED contain both hardware and are capable of coding.
