G30 5 Series Sedan LCI Faceilft First Sighting

G30 5 Series Sedan LCI Faceilft First Sighting

COMMENTS

The LCI refresh for the G30 5 Series is on its way (expect it sometime next year) and that means prototypes are now hitting the road.

Here's a first look at the G30 sedan facelift prototype with larger kidney grilles, revised headlights (with DRL lighting reminiscent of the G20 3 Series) and revised tali lights.

This is also the plug-in hybrid model and should be the 545e xDrive which we recently revealed will be joining the 5 Series lineup. It will have the same drivetrain as the new 745e, slightly detuned to 375hp.

Updated November 19, 2019

LCI G30 M Sport prototype spotted. See comparison image against current pre-LCI G30 M Sport.

Updated October 30, 2019

Here is the most revealing look yet at the LCI G30 5 Series. As you can see in the comparison photo, the kidney grilles will grow just a bit in size, but not substantially so.

The bigger grill doesn't bother me like most people, but what I can't stand are those lazy as heck DRL droopy eyelids...

Hopefully the lighting upgrade is similar to the packages the 5 has now

Doesn't this completely destroy resale value?

I'd be more interested in seeing the interior. I bet it will have more significant changes. The grill enlargement is unfortunate...

Yes! Big grilles are coming!
I find 540i to be the perfect BMW for myself. My only gripe with it was the design that didn't take any risks, maybe even boring without the icon lights, big wheels and M package.

I'm very happy to see new grill design is coming to G30!

might be the first time people want the Pre LCI over the LCI. Curious what the m5 will look like with the massive grills

The camo is doing a decent job... the grill will probably be enormous but the G chassis styling is starting to grow on me as I suspected it would.

What I am really bummed about is how the 3 and 5 series have become such big cars. I like the E39 as a size reference for a mid sized luxury sports sedan.

I do like the rear 3/4 angle looks really good. I'm sure it will be great to drive, just not sure if I want to be seen driving it yet.

Seems to me the headlight upgrade is coming to the regular LED and not the ICON adaptive, unless there was a completely different LED pattern change.

M5 should be understated and boring IMO. Sort of it's whole ethos.

Of course we are now in the Chinese wealth flaunting era of cars so it's all about showing off.

That's a yikes from me dawg.

And here I was hoping they would give the rear part a lift and just leave the front as is, since it's simply stunning.

Lol. BMW usually makes LCI cars look way better. But if this goes big grills, we have to start snagging up pre LCI f90s before it's too late.

Get M340, almost as big as E39 5 series, and more power than 540...

If the headlights are similar to this one on the X5, the refreshed 5er will have a very aggressive face. I'm totally for bigger grills and these style headlights
