2015 328 versus 2017 530...

I am looking at a 2017 530, with 80k and in good condition etc, from a '15 328 w/65k, that I have had since 17k, A solid, attractive car, with a few leaks, repaired out of warranty. Are the 5 series worth the jump? for only two years difference?

Have you driven it? It will be a completely different car. Probably not that comparable. Much smoother ride, but I imagine your 3 series handles better from a sporty ride standpoint.

Although they are only two years apart, the 2017 5-series is on the latest G-platform whereas the 328i is on the F-platform. Therefore, you will have an updated interior with a semi-digital dash and a newer iDrive. And, as mentioned above, the 5-series will feel much smoother, as well as newer and more "premium." Build quality takes a step up from 3-series to 5-series.

However, 80k is very high mileage for a 2017, I would look heavily into the maintenance records even if the B46 engine has proven to be quite reliable.

Thank you! that was very helpful. I overlooked the G platform was implemented on the 5 series, before the 3 series.

First time ever asked here, but glad you asked.... Funeral Director, and just as passionate for a BMW, as my profession.

One of my very best friends is part of owner of his family's funeral home. That's why it caught my eye. Some of his dad's golf buddies call his dad "undertaker".

Very neat. I am not an owner or family. But I am affiliated with a prestigious generational family-owned firm in my community. So, I can relate to creating a similar identity.

Yes, it is. Ours too, 150 years continuously, wouldn't be surprised if our firms were in similar associations.

Having had 2 3' s and 2 5' s, it's a5 everytime. Grown up car . Bearing in mind your profession you will appreciate the attention to detail and the smoothness.

Choose the make and model and then choose the specific car wisely
