I was first in my neighborhood but I believe that Cox has now made it available throughout the entire city.
Comcast has a similar asymmetrical Gigabit service over coax (using DOCSIS) as well as a symmetrical 1 gigabit and 2 gigabit service over fiber.

AT&T fiber tends to be less expensive for consumers. At least in South FL.

Well, I received a few responses from OEM Navigations:
"S firmware is not supported yet. We working on it."
Then I asked about the cert/encryption topic:
"Simply said yes. They added some block for codings."

Update: OEM Navigations has updated their installer to enable widescreen CarPlay on EVO-S which was updated with the backup camera recall.

Note: They did have to issue me a new code, but it did not cost me anything since I had already purchased it and was applying it to the same vehicle.

Nice to hear. I want to do the iSTEP upgrade but have held off as I have some custom coding including CarPlay and widescreen too. (Presume I'll need the updated software update from Almaretto for CarPlay activation)

The only problem is I have a few other custom items too including:

- [ ] Auto-Start-Stop Memory
- [ ] Remove seatbelt auditory chime for driver and passenger
- [ ] Enable rear camera zoom
- [ ] Bluetooth pairing display at any speed
- [ ] Disable office function speed lock
- [ ] Call log timestamp
- [ ] Rear camera at all speeds

I'm wondering how to get these back after I do the update....(auto start/stop memory) is the most important!

Any idea of new new/changed features?

You'll have to redo all of those things (except for A/S/S. It won't change because that particular module is not updated) after you get your vehicle back after the backup camera recall. Considering Apple CarPlay is now free for everyone, not sure why you would need to activate anything there except widescreen. If you have that now, you will have to reapply it after the i-step update.

If you use BimmerCode, you can reapply all that other stuff within 15 minutes.

Not really. The ConnectedDrive Store app no longer works within the vehicle, but that's across-the-board regardless of version. You'll be presented with a QR code to logon to those services on the website. You can still access all of the other apps, you just can't purchase new subscriptions from inside the vehicle

How did you get BMW to update your idrive? They keep telling me there needs to be something wrong first before they do. I tried saying I have backup camera problem so we'll see how that goes. I have an appointment with them on Friday. Hopefully they say yes to the update.

Your system will get updated when they perform the backup camera recall.

How do I know that I have that as a recall? If I don't I wonder if I can still insist on it.
