The only thing I didn't like in Sport seats were bottom cushion bolsters, which pinched me in a bit more than I like. Comfort seat bottom is a bit wider and bolsters lower. The back cushion of the Sport seats is very nicely bolstered and comfortable, but in the US these seats come with a 4-way electric lumbar support. I also liked the laterally-adjustable headrest in the Sport seats - genius feature! Headrest in Comfort seats is electric and only moves up/down, not forward/backward; which is compensated to an extent by the articulating upper back cushion. I still would have preferred the same headrest as with the Sport seats, but other than that I found really no faults with the Comfort seats. They still have good adjustable bolsters in the back cushion, which provide excellent lateral support for aggressive cornering (at least for my body type - 5'9", 185lb, average build). Finally, even though I'd be perfectly fine with either, my wife really appreciated Nappa leather and disliked Dakota, which made my choice simple - Nappa is only available with Comfort seats.
Do you know that you can manually adjust the headrest by bending the sides toward you?

Yes, I know, but this is not the same as moving the entire headrest towards your head. I am not trying to lock my head in a "soft vise" here - middle of the pad (where your head actually rests) remains in place. With Sport seats the whole headrest moves forward.

Yes the headrest is a different design. Comfort seats uses an active head restraint system called "Catcher's mitt" in General Motors lingo.

Not sure if those active headrests are one time use or can be reset.

You can practice Ayurveda to treat similar problems. Rubbing painful areas of the back with mahanarayan oil also helps to relieve pain. People with vata and pitta constitutions need to rub the oil easily and on the surface, whereas kapha individuals need a deeper and longer massage. Instead of massage, you can do this procedure. Apply a paste made from ground ginger with water to the painful area and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse off the paste and rub (or ask someone close to you to do it) a small amount of eucalyptus oil into the skin of your back. Learn more about sle treatment in ayurveda.

Not in a BMW, but I had, what was assumed something serious going on with my left kidney, attrocious pain.
Never related it to driving.
After a scan, nothing was found, and the specialist went through a heap of stuff with me.
Long story short - A broken spring in the seatback turned out to be the culprit.
Probably not the issue here, but worth checking.
