wheel alignment

Good afternoon all, Im eagerly awaiting delivery of my 540i saloon. It is currently fully assembled so hopefully will be in the uk early next month.

One question I have, is it worth getting the alignment calibrated?

Have previously used these guys and it has transformed even new cars.

1 pothole and there goes your $400 alignment. Unless car is pulling, don't waste your money

In the US BMW will cover alignment and wiper blades for the first 2K miles or so. If you're having issues at delivery get them to address it, but otherwise it should be fine from the factory.

Drive your brand new car for 1 month, learn how it drive. Bring it to alignment after and you will learn your lesson for life. Manufacture calibration is probably the best. Even your local BMW dealer can still screw it up badly. I don't let anyone touch it unless something really wrong happened to my car.

Yep agree. Only get alignment if you have an issue.

My 540 now 2.5 years old has imho great alignment in terms of that it tracks accurately along the road not requiring any adjustments . Not even the hint if any pull to either side.
A joy to drive as regards that

My previous f10 was not like this though wanting to pull left a bit on motorways despite an alignment being done and it subsequently being "within spec"

Thanks good to know.

I had an mx5 which was transformed by a £50 suspension setup.
