Assuming it's even possible, which I don't think it is with iDrive 6 and coding, how would you remote start the vehicle? It won't be from the app and those expensive remotes would require programming/activation at the dealership.

Press the lock button 3 times on a normal key fob.

Has anyone got any updates? I've got 2018 G30, is it possible to code remote start using factory remote without additional hardware?

Thank you

When I attempted to code it on my G01 X3, I got the menu to appear in iDrive, but I couldn’t select anything, and when pressing the lock button 3 times, nothing happened. Turns out the factory remote start (1CR) requires an FSC code for the DME module. When I checked on my 530e, the DME has a spot for it, meaning in theory it could be added. However, I don’t want to spend the money to buy it when there isn’t a 100% guarantee it would work, and also, because I don’t need it on the 530e. If someone else is willing to be the guinea pig, you can find people selling them online for $150-$200 I believe. Then it’s just 4-5 fdl coding changes, you can’t VO code it in since 1CR was not an option for the G30.

Coded to latest vehicle but not working

Hello, I coded to my G12 (730d) vehicle but it is not working.
It has id7 and remote parking feature is available for default.

After fast press lock button 3 times, Vehicle blinks turn signal to alerting remote engine start, but engine not actually started.

I can hear the sound that some switch likes relay switch is turning on but engine didn't started.

Turn on vehicle after trying remote engine start, It showing the error message "Remote Engine Start unavailable. The conditions necessary for operation have not been met. For other information, see the user manual."(It translated from Korean).
It didn't show what condition did not met.

It coded all code described in this thread.

That condition may be the country restriction but I am not sure.

Is there any other people tried remote engine start?

You can see the testing video on here

You need an FSC for remote start. That's probably your issue.

there are some exceptions to this such as vim and other features (compass?) that are not production released but are supported in i-step. These may have no boolean or are set false, but we know they work when activated.

When you vo code your car it checks the fa for parameters - car build version, region, options (pre-req and new code options), blocking codes, etc. The target ecu is then coded based upon the boolean and fa. This is how dealers retrofit options such as 1cr - they don't fdl code.

1735 is 5at- driving assistant plus, so wherever this is set to true, if your fa has that option and all other conditions are met, then this will be coded aktiv. Still doesn't mean it will work as you may not have the hardware, so you generally see an error in ista.

You can use tm's ncdtool to quickly determine what the boolean codes correspond with and decrypt what is actually being set.

To add - in your remote start example, on cars where it is supported all of those codes that are set to false for the g30, have boolean. So you add 1cr to the fa of a g05 and you get:
1d92:
Dwa motor remote: Aktiv [01]

3d0e:
C_epbi_remote_start: Aktiv [01]

3e52:
Hvac_remote_engine_start: Aktiv [01]

4508:
Hmi_remote_start_enable: Aktiv [01]

51c9:
Min_tankinhalt_standheizen: 2l [02]
standklima_motorlauf: Aktiv_alle_aktivierungswege [01]

7083:
Alh_aktiv_in_pwf_zustand: Ab_standfunktionen [02]
rcm_enable_remote_enginestart: Aktiv [01]
tcm_remote_start: Aktiv [01]
voko_shz_alhz: Voko_aktive_alle_sitze [0f]
hi *ifr* if you to busy to answer i understand, just a quick question , how do i find trimmed settings, (your time is worth money, i dont mind to contribute to your coffee)

The car should also have the available slot for remote start FSC. I've checked mine (2017) and saw that this FSC is not supported on my G30. So if you're planning to purchase the FSC code, first check the slot for that code on your cars

@ifr , VirtualGuitars
3 times click on remote starts the engine. But, in comments of this parameter it is noted that vehicles after 2018 supports this feature. I assume it is not possible for earlier production cars such as mine because I don't even have a slot for FSC on my car for remote start. That may be one of preconditions for the remote start

Just use Eurostart. This is how I got remote start for my 2017 g30.

0x17c was the one

Why do you have 2 DMEs?

Remote start is definitely possible. There are plenty of BMW promotions videos from 2016/2017 of G30 and G11 cars demonstrating remote start and remote parking.
However they weren't offered to European customers due to regulations.

I've come across 1 coder who's got it up and running on his own car. Said it was a nightmare figuring it out and doesn't want to attempt it on customers cars

Sorry for the "dummy" question after reading the thread, but what is the short answer as to whether it's possible to code in remote start? I have a 2020 M550 with the remote park feature.

If it is able to be coded, how would I then activate that feature?
