Does the Model S drive better than the G30?

For those who were able to test drive the Model S, how would you compare to our cars strictly from the stand point of comfort and ride quality. My 540ixMSport lease is coming due and I’m thinking of stretching for that Tesla. No need to discuss performance as this has been written about a lot over the last 9 nears. Thanks.

I test drove a Model S last year before buying my 540i. The Tesla is obviously a rocket, and it's driver assistance systems are more advanced, but in every other way I felt the g30 is better. Refinement, materials quality, noise, steering feel, etc.

That said, a brand new Model S is about to launch so you should check that out first. I suspect it will be way better than the previous generation which was very long in the tooth.

Driving assistance tech in MY21 is vastly improved over pre-LCI. Car stays in the center of the lane, doesn't bounce from side to side, changes lanes if blinker is engaged.

The best party trick is the eye monitoring system. In multi lane traffic below 40 mph driver doesn't need to touch the wheel at all. No need to tap the wheel every so often. As long as I am looking ahead and keeping my eyes open the car will drive itself indefinitely or as long as conditions persist. This is super helpful in traffic and works really good. Major step-up over pre-LCI.

Very jealous. I find in my 2020 model, that the lane keep turns off far too often, even when the lane markings are quite clear to my eye. I'm not sure what's throwing it off.

If you really wanted to get into a comfort focused EV with some power take a look at the new MB EQS.

Probably my next car. But I have to drive the Taycan first. Drove the Audi Etron, and liked it a lot, except for the only 200 mile battery. Tesla is not my thing. I want to still drive myself in comfort with amenities....Tesla has a different, minimalist view.
