Used on my 640i GT.
I researched which inline 6 BMWs sounded best and IMO it was the m240i.
Being that our cars had the same engine, I bought a m240i muffler and had a shop retrofit it to my car with quad tips
Sounds good in and outside of car.
Since the M performance muffler is made for the 540i and 640i, this should fit
The 540i also.
