The "My BMW" app now available in the USA Apple app store

I noticed the My BMW app is now available in the app store. I believe this is intended to replace BMW Connected.

New feature seems to be Amazon Alexa integration, though that might depend on your iDrive version.

I installed it. It does not have, or I do not see, edrive info like I do in Connected app. If this replaces Connected App without showing edrive info, I will not be happy. Seems slow to update as well....last update I have is from 4/18 6:25 p.m. A day and a half ago.

The new app uses Maps that are different than "Connected". I was in Florida last week, and returned on the Amtrak auto train. The new app could not find and provided no choice for the Amtrak terminal in Sanford FL. Of course we found it and added it in "Connected" without a problem (the old app still works and I have not deleted it), but it is inexcusable to have a map system that can't find a location like that.

Yea, I actually had to reinstall the app to get the vehicle finder, climate control timer, remote 3D view, and remote history options to show.

Do you have the Parking Assistance Package? You should contact your dealer or a BMW Genius if so.

Do you have the Parking Assistance Package? You should contact your dealer or a BMW Genius if so.

Yes. My car is fully optioned with everything but B&W stereo. And the parking asst package still works. Just used it the other day.

I just downloaded the "myBMW" app as well, and the other differences I noticed:

- "activities" section that showed all the locations you drove to is gone.
- includes fuel gallon capacity which Connected did not show, as I recall it just showed total range.
- cool graphics that show your 530e with the charge cord attached when charging
- maybe just my setup but it now requires a 4-digit PIN or Touch-ID on iphone to open.
- with the loss of eDrive, I do miss the rating you get after a drive that showed regeneration and efficiency and such.

All in all, not too thrilled about it. But as BMW is cutting the cord on Connected on 6/30, I decided to go sooner than later.

It is also missing the calendar integration that allowed you to quickly navigate to upcoming appointments in the app or car.

Hopefully it is slowly getting improved. At least it can do notifications on charge start and end. Would be nice to get the charge history they get in the EU though.
