I have seen pictures of a 2020 in Champagne quartz with Tartufo interior and that is absolutely the way that color should have been ordered. My black nappa looks fine with it, but a brown or tan would be perfect. I’m still glad I conceded on black interior and went with the “indiv” color. I’d never seen it but I love it now.

Very nice, here’s mine & the e36. Do you miss it? I miss mine although I miss my old e36 328is more, I think my 35i & the G31 were/are just to fast to exploit 100%, whereas the 328 had 193bhp & I could ring everything out of it when on a ‘special drive’ sometimes less can be more

Yea I’d love to have to back but it would of become a money pit. When it caught fire it was the best way for it go because I got more money out of it instead of a private sale. You’re right, I bet that e36 was a hoot. I think the e36/e46 models were the sweet spot of being able to work on your car and still have newer models.

Maybe. But they are going to have a 550e I think, with PHEV version of B58. So depending on how they tune it, may be similar just without the M. I think for marketing they want to make the M Lite version be the i5.

Have they released or has any info leaked on HP for the new six cylinder PHEV?

Yes. The E46 is a great platform, but if you're going to use it as your DD, put miles on it on those nasty salty roads, then it's going to get ruined and end up a salty old rust bucket that's worth about $5K. Then you'll really cry about how much money you lost.

The 540i value is likely settled down to something reasonable, so it's just going to cost you some minor maintenance for the next few years.

It’s the same engine(s) as in the x5 50e and weighs close to 5000lbs. It’s not going to keep up with an M550i, not even close, but it’s not supposed to.

And I think the E53 is going to be a dud honestly, though I really like the outgoing pure ICE version. The M560e probably got cancelled because bmw figured out it wasn’t particularly good at anything. One can speculate based on the rest of the G60 lineup that it’d be hideously heavy and relatively underpowered as a result, without the pep of the pure EV i5. Now to have a second cup of coffee…

The E46 would be the summer car. Camry would be the winter car or 540. But I'll just keep the 540. I can always tune it to push more power.

I did find a job. Not the ideal job I was looking for. But, it is far better off than Hyundai. I got hired at a Ford store. The GM of the store lives in my neighborhood and offered me the job. He said my background and energy (being in my early 20s) compared to the rest of the salespeople here (mid-50s) would help out the store.

Everyone is nice and there is no b.s. or lying crap going on to make a deal. The GM/GSM are very encouraging and nice. v.s. at Hyundai, the GM would always talk crap about you and whatnot. Very negative energy at Hyundai. Nobody was paid what they should be. The GM was always finding ways to screw salespeople over.

I'll still be looking for jobs in the meantime. Kind of want to land a "normal" 9-5 Monday-Friday type job where I have a Salary/hourly pay vs a commision pay plan. The College Degree has not come into use yet.

I dropped by a body shop that used to do my local BMW MD’s paint & bodywork this morning, although I was in the Discovery at the time. Had a long chat with the owner, showed him a few pics of the G31 & he didn’t seem at all fazed by the colour. Am taking the G31 over there Monday afternoon for him to have a look & to get a quote to repaint the front bumper, spoiler, fit the splitter & to have a chat about repainting the bonnet, he did say that if they did the bonnet they’d need to blend in the front wings, am feeling pretty confident in these guys.

Next job after getting the paint sorted is gonna be buying & fitting those drilled/slotted discs & carbon brake pads
