Just placed my order!
Finally got my order finalized with my dealer for a 2020 530e! Looking forward to the process as this is my first custom-ordered BMW, and I am also excited about the Performance Center Delivery day.
Order went in with production number yesterday and today it already moved to Production Begins, I think I got lucky and they were able to modify an existing order before it hit production status. For those that have seen my other posts, I have a history of doing a lot of retrofits on most of my prior BMW's, but with this one I decided to get most of the options I wanted from the factory. However, I still plan to add on a few other things after I pick it up Build List: 2020 530e RWD Alpine White Exterior/Black Dakota with Blue Stitching/Fineline Ridge Wood Trim M-Sport Package Executive Package Driving Assistant Plus Parking Assistant Plus Front and Rear Heated Seats / Heated Steering Wheel Harman Kardon Surround System Night Vision w/ Pedestrian Detection |

I predict you will love it. There was a recent study on automatic braking systems and they didn't fare very well at night. But nightvision gives you that extra night security. And...besides...it is very cool. My passengers love looking at the IDrive screen when it is on (not me because I am looking at the street but my HUD will let me know if nightvision sees a potential impact).
I also think you will like the MSport steering wheel. it is one of the principal reasons I ordered mine with MSport. |

Enjoy the wait. Nice build. I love DA+ and use it all the time on the highway in traffic. Not perfect but very helpful.

Thank you all. Yes, I definitely had to have M-Sport (which is pretty much why I had to order one) as I had it on my last 2 cars and that wheel is definitely miles better than the standard one, especially on the older F30. I love the DA+ on my X3, and it’s the same as the 530e, but I am definitely looking forward to the Night Vision. We have a lot of deer and dark roads where people walk their dogs at night where I live, and while the LED headlights helped some, there were quite a few times when I didn’t see them until I was close to where they were at.

Uh oh, now you have me a bit worried. We put our order in for my SO's 530e a couple of weeks ago and its still sitting on status 111. Starting to wonder if my dealer didn't actually have any allocations. Looks like they are building you a pretty car!

Happy Black Friday to me! Went from “Production Begins” last night to “In the paint booth” this morning. The website is probably already tired of me checking the status many times a day lol

Thanks! I went to Awaiting Carrier Assignment today. Definitely need some patience myself as I still have a ways to go. The killer for me is if I want to go through with the PCD or not. Based on recent build timelines and estimating the remaining days on mine, my car "should" be "at the dealership" by or close to New Years if I take delivery there. However, my CA called me yesterday, and the earliest date the PCD offered me is in the first week of February As many good things as I have read about the PCD experience, an extra month of waiting seems like an eternity at this point lol

Everything I've heard or read about the PCD is positive, but adding a month to the delivery does make it a tough decision.
I've been to the SC PC twice, both times for "M" track days, and it's a great facility and an excellent staff. Since I've already BTDT I likely would not spring for the PCD, but I can certainly see the attraction. And since you're in FL, weather should not be a factor for the drive home.
