M550 downpipe no tune?

Is it dangerous to run a cat less downpipe with no tune? Cars a 2022 so no times available.

Just remove the secondary cats for no ill effects. Removing the primary cats causes CEL and cannot be tuned yet anyway as you stated.

Not dangerous. Car runs the same; you will get a check engine light as a warning which you can ignore.

Sorry, I wouldn't say ignore. What if the initial CEL masks a second CEL that is more serious?

I'd say monitor.... but, not my car.

It wouldn't hurt to check the car code every now and then

Remember when the JB4 would auto-clear the cat codes ? Might still do that if you make it think it's outside the continental united states Been a few years, not sure that is still an option.

No that feature is dead in new BMWs, only works when the car is in diagnostic mode.

Wow just finished installing those Down pipes. What a pain in the! I did it with 2 jack stands in my garage. Took about 2 days working here and there. The car sounds good though, pops like crazy even in comfort mode.

This should work, but some people have still reported CELs after.

Why do that? No tune should equal no Dp upgrade...Sounds like putting an M badge on a non M car
