Ambient lighting when opening door
I remember reading this somewhere, but cant seem to find it...
I have a 2022 330i as a loaner and saw that when I open the driver's door the ambient lighting turns red and "flashes" sequentially. Is there a way code this in a 2019 540i? |

Did you save the vehicle files? LCI cars have twice the number of CAFDs for BDC so may not be possible.
What is the purpose of color change and blinking? Does it indicate anything specific? |

It’s not color changing, all original “g05” bdc models have it, it’s called dynamic ambient lighting. It switches the lighting from solid to pulsing red when the door is opened, essentially to warn or give caution to anyone passing by that you very much enjoy your door and possibly your life… definitely a neat feature.

No such thing as not possible
All my coders have been drama queens lately so I haven't looked into it beyond my ability. Afaik, if g11 bdc has support for it, then it would all come down to keyboard work, but I doubt it. Same concept as coding the ambient lighting to automatically rgb color shift, but once the car is restarted, the table reverts back to stock function... |
