Soft Close Doors & Dynamic Dampers are deleted for MY2021 among other things.

The lack of dynamic dampers guarantees I will not be buying another 5 series. I’m not sure why they are dropping key features for such a high end car. These are features that just about every other car in its class offer.

Just get the M550i, it has them standard.

I too saw the the change of price for the ventilated seats. I called my dealer and he thought the error was on the configurator as the official ordering guide is still $500. Over the past year there have been numerous configurator mismatches with the ordering guide...my experience has been that the configurator has some inaccuracies....you can't ordrr a car from the configurator.

I’d love to have a 550. All I do with my car since I retired is drive to Lowe’s and to get my haircut. I ride my motorcycles 4-5 days a week.

What do you mean? The order guide is definitive and can be used to order the car as SOP was 7/1. The configuration tool on the website is for information purposes only.

I'm liking the value proposition here for 2021. I've been torn on stepping down to a 3-series from my 540i. The introduction of attractive 19" wheels on the MSport, a good looking Sensatec option, and some previously optional stuff as standard has me considering another. It would come in under $70k compared to $78k for my current car and I would not miss any of the missing features, like the underwhelming seat ventilation and massage or soft close doors and sun shades I have now.

My SA tells me his order sheet is now showing a lux seating package (vent & massage seats) for $1500, I guess that's how it was on the 20's.
