Carbon or gloss black body kit on Sapphire
Evening all, I’m looking to add a rear diffuser, front splitter and side skirts to my new (to me) 540i.
I already have a gloss black front grille, rear badges and IND rear rounded but am considering my options of carbon vs full black with my car colour. I’m going round in circles between carbon and black so would like to throw it out there especially if anyone has any pics to convince me either way. I’m probably going for the M5 style rear diffuser although I’ve heard it stops the Smart boot opener from working. Anyway, here are some pics of the car in question… |

This carbon fiber one. I have CF mirror caps, front grill and spoiler already so just continuing with the theme. Only issue is I need to get different exhaust tips as mine are too big for this diffuser.

Op: I'd say go with carbon; it provides a subtle but noticeable bit of contrast against the body color. With that said, I'd pick dry over wet carbon.

I went with gloss black in the end based on the advice, I wanted to keep the contrast minimal as the contrast of the grey bothered me. Just need to decide on which brand of side skirts to get as the ones I ordered were not great. |
