5x112 wheel weights, sizes from other models and tyre options
As a lot of you will know, BMW changed their bolt pattern (PCD) to 5x112 from 5x120, after about 40 years, with the newest cars they've launched, including the G01 X3, G30/31 5 series, G32 6 GT and G11/12 7 series.
There are a few others such as the X1, X2, i3 and i8 but I'm posting this on a G30 forum with the intent of discussion what some OEM options might be for a G30 or G31 that give a wider or lighter wheel option. The X1 etc options aren't wider. A few people have shown pictures of the G30/31 with G11/12 wheels such as this thread and they look great which was the inspiration for this thread. http://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1392568 Another reason for this thread is that a number of people will want wheels that are wider than stock but want to keep the OEM look. G01, G11/12/32 wheels fit fine and will be a good option for G30/31 owners wanting to run wider tyres. All of the info below is pulled from realoem. The size and offsets for the G01, G30/31, G32 and G12/12 are as below and the weight is front wheel first, rear wheel second: G30/31 20" 20x8.0 30mm 20x9.0 44mm 19" 19x8.0 30mm 19x9.0 44mm 18" 18x8.0 30mm 18x9.0 44mm 20" options: 636 15.6kg and 15.4kg (not a typo, the rear is lighter) 668m 13.9kg and 14.4kg 669m 11.8kg and 12.0kg (lightest by miles and a good choice imho) 759i 14.3kg and 14.9kg 19" options: 633 13.5kg and 13.5kg (not a typo, they are the same weight) 635 13.0kg and 13.45kg 663 13.5kg and 13.8kg 664m 13.0kg and 13.5kg 18" options: note there are some that are 18x8 30mm front and rear, the 662m is the only staggered 18" option 662m 11.0kg and 11.0kg (not a typo, they are the same weight) G01 - the only staggered options are for 20" and 21". With both of them the 9.5" wheel will allow for 285mm wide rear tyres. The weights are missing on realoem for some of these, I imagine they will be filled in eventually. 21" 21x8.5 30mm 21x9.5 43mm 20" 20x8.0 27mm 20x9.5 43mm (or 27mm on the 787m at the rear) 21" options: 701m 14.0kg and 14.5kg 718m 16.1kg and 16.5kg 726i missing 20" options: 695 15.0kg and 15.7kg 697 missing 699m 14.0kg front, rear weight missing 787m 14.5kg and 15.2kg What is different about the 787m is that they have a 27mm offset front and rear, the other 20x9.5" rear are all 43mm offset G11/12/32 - the 10" wide 20" or 21" options will allow for 295mm wide rear tyres 21" 21x8.5 25mm 21x10.0 41mm 20" 20x8.5 25mm 20x10.0 41mm 19" 19x8.5 25mm 19x9.5 39mm 21" options: 629 17.8kg and 18.7kg 650m 17.9kg and 13.5kg (this seems to be too big of a difference to be correct, I suspect it is a typo) 687 16.4kg and 17.0kg 20" options: 628 15.0kg and 16.0kg 646 15.6kg and 19.5kg 648m 13.0kg and 14.0kg 649i 18.2kg and 19.3kg 686 missing 760m 15.0kg and 16.0kg 19" options: 620 12.0kg and 14.0kg 630 13.5kg and 14.0kg 647m 13.2kg and 13.8kg 685 missing F90 M5 20" 20x9.5 28mm 20x10.5 28mm 19" 19x9.5 26mm 19x10.5 28mm 20" options: 706m 16kg front, rear missing. From post here rather than realoem. The scales may not be perfectly accurate but they are very heavy wheels https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1525312 789m 12.7kg and 13.4kg. From the same thread as above. Scales may not be 100% accurate but should be close 19" options: 705m 13.0kg front, rear weight missing Overall summary from me, if you want 20" wheels and if you're ok with the stock 245/35r20 and 275/30r20 tyres, then the best option for you is the 669m wheels that are for a G30/31. If you want to go up to 255/35r20 front with 285/30r20 or 295/30r20 rear tyres then the best option is the 648m wheels. The F90 M5 normal wheels are really heavy and I wouldn't recommend them at all. The 19" is heavier than some 20" options from other cars and the 20" is just an outright boat anchor. However the 789m from the Competition is quite light and could be a good option but due to the 9.5" and 10.5" widths you'll need to be running 255/35r20 or 265/35r20 at the front and 285/30r20, 295/30r20 or 305/30r20 at the rear and I'm not sure how many of those tyres would actually fit in a normal G30/31 body. The M5 has a wider front quarter panel for one. If you have xdrive an obvious question is what happens with rolling radius? The stock setup is actually 0.97% smaller at the rear with 20" wheels. So with 255/35r20 and 285/30r20 you are 1.1% smaller at the rear and with 255/35r20 and 295/30r20 you are 0.22% smaller. The non-staggered setup is of course the same front and rear so neither of these options will be a problem as they are so close to what is already available, but I'd go straight to 295/30r20 at the rear if it was me getting 648m wheels on my G30/31 If you're happy with 19" wheels then the best option is the 620 based on weight and for these you can go with 255/40r19 front with 285/35r19 rear which is 0.36% smaller than the front which is still within spec. Smallest update possible, the G01 699m front wheel weight has turned up on realoem and is 14kg, not the lightest optin in 20" for the G01.
The 19" wheels for the F90 M5 have also turned up, 13.0kg for the front but no weight for the rear or the 20" option yet |

Ordered my G30 with 668m wheels.
Does anyone know if G30 668m 20" wheels are forged or cast iron? At the same time I am looking for a second wheel set to be used for autocross (will be reusing PSS that came with 668m wheels for that) 20" is 669m is listed as Forged based on the link: https://shop.bmw.us/bmw-us/en_US/p/-...669-m/2446967/ Also, are f90 M5 706m wheels forged? Thank you |

The 706m is definitely cast, but the new competition wheels are forged. No weights on them yet though |

Can we also mount 8 series wheels? The center hub is 66.6 instead of 66.5. The 8 series has some interesting designs. Styling 700 is to my liking. Does someone know what they weigh?

If found out that style 634 wheels weigh 13 kg per wheel. 662m is 11 kg per wheel:-)
