Civic SI vs 330/335

I am considering a civic si. How different is the car compared to the golden e46/e92.

feel free to state the obvious.

haha besides the obvious?

it's a fun little 2.0 four banger.
handles very well with stock suspension.
sounds pretty sexy stock.
easy and cheap to mod.
very nice interior.
saves gas.

i have a fiji blue pearl sedan. it's fun to drive but i needs a bit more power. the type-r from japan on the other hand, is a whole different car.

overall it's a fun eco sports car.

also revs up to 8200.

i had considered a civic Si with sat nav as a cheaper alternative to the e92

pros:
* fun and real easy to drive
* sounds AWESOME - yes even the exhaust
* great shifter
* good looks as a coupe

all in all, i think it's tough to beat for its price. The Lancer is a great alternative but it's got 4 doors...

I'm confused by this thread. The only differences are the obvious ones (which sounds like you already know) so I don't know what else you wanna know.

I've driven the SI. Damn fun car, thing feels like it has more than 197hp. The posts above are also very true. The car is extremely reliable. Add a comptech supercharger, headers, exhaust, CAI, coilover, camber plates, rims, your running 10's and 11's, and its soo much fun!! As for the torque steer, thats a different story. I DD a 2000 civic ex, but not really biased. Good luck with your purchase!!

I drive both. Si is a different feel. It's a quick car with a high revving engine. The interior quality is definitely a step down. The sound system is surprisingly good for a car in that class. Easy to shift and fun to drive. Some quirks are, cold engine makes car buck, a few blind spots, can't see the front of the car so you don't know how close you are to a car when parking in a stall and some cars have 3rd gear grinding. Overall, I purchased a used one cheap and I think it's a great car for the price.

This is surprising not one negative comment about the si. The interior is definitely lacking though.

The fanboys are sleeping...

The interior is lacking compared to any luxury brand.

I saw my friend's vanilla Civic sedan and thought that they are really moving up in quality for an econocar.

Ummm...it's got V-TEC.

Useful if you like saying to your passengers: "V-TEC just kicked in, yo" or "V-TEC...**** that's fast".

I had an RSX Type S before my 335i which is essentially the civic Si. I loved it. That thing screamed at 7900 rpm but did absolutely nothing until 5400rpm. I'd probably buy another one as a commuter or something if it came down to it. It was definitely a good car to learn how to goof around in... wasnt too fast to get you in deep trouble with the law and had a really progressive understeer set up that always communicated what it was doing to the driver--namely plowing til you hit the brakes lol

When I test drove the civic SI, I was just not very impressed. Maybe its cause there were 4 people in the car weighing it down. On the other hand I test drove a 2009 honda fit and I loved it.

Well you pretty much implied that you know the obvious so it's obviously pointless to point them out...
