With your M sport package, is your shift knob any different from the stock shifter ? Hard to tell from the photo. I have the M sport steering wheel on my car; it feels great. So, I'm wondering if your shift knob also has the perforated leather. Thanks. |

If you order the M sport package and have also ordered the auto option, then you don't get a different shifter. You get a stubby shifter with the same perforated leather only if you have the standard manual gearbox. I have a 330d waiting to be collected and I have the M steering wheel and gear leaver. Looks great.
I'm sure somebody could provide a link to a picture as I have seen them on this website before. |

Graphite is a great color, but it's just not sporty at all. It's like the business man's color, i was thinking about getting it, but any mods you do to your car just won't match well IMO.

Phil,
Congrats on your stunning looking 325 M sport. May I suggest one small addition - install AL pedals to go with your M-sport footrest. I have them in my car; they look great. Also, your style 193 wheels look awesome on the car. I have a set of these waiting in my garage for the end of winter. Can't wait to see them on my car. Enjoy your beautiful new machine ! Derek |

You´re letting your passenger drive ?
Where´s the fun in that? And when you´re alone, do you reach over to grab the wheel ????

Forgot to ask when at the dealer, but I mailed BMW customer services, here is the reply I got Thank you for your email to BMW Customer Information. We would firstly like to apologise for the delay in our response. We are able to confirm that we have contacted the Product Executive for the BMW 3 Series and they have confirmed that there is a mistake in the brochure and in fact the M Sport does not come with an Aluminium Footrest. The footrest that has been put in your vehicle during production, is correct. We are truly sorry that this mistake has been made within our brochure and can assure you that there was absolutely no intention to mislead our customers here. We would advise that our sales literature be regarded as a guide to our vehicles, however specific details should be confirmed with the dealership you are placing an order with. May we suggest that you speak with the service department of your local dealership whom will be able to identify if there is any possibility of having this item as a retrofit option. We do hope that this does not reflect on your opinion of BMW and if we can provide you with any further assistance, please contact a member of the team on the details below. Yours sincerely, Tiffany Martin Product Advisor And my reply... While I thank you for your reply I'm very disappointed. I appreciate that there was no intent to mislead but I'm afraid that the explanation isn't really satisfactory is it? What else in the brochures isn't correct, surely BMW can't just change details to suit! I shouldn't have to confirm with the dealer items specified in the brochure, are your seriously saying I should confirm the car has wheels? I've not got the brochure to hand, but if I remember correctly was not merely photographed it was actually referred to in the text ( although I may be wrong) What surprises me is that I have seen pictures of this footrest supplied as standard in other vehicles in internet forums so its not like it doesn't exist. I don't see why I should be asking my dealer if this is available retrofit, haven't I already paid for the item! This has been mentioned by a number of posters when pictures of cars have been posted why some have and other don't have the footrest! I'll be posting your reply in the discussion groups I'm a member of! Its petty I know, but I have the light grey interior and this peice of trim will soon get very dirty....lets see what happens. Anyone out there with the RH drive E90 sport with the aluminium footrest? |
