Fuel overflow on fill up
From day one my 520d, G30 has a problem when filling up the fuel tank. Regardless of fuel brand, petrol station or the fuel pump, the result is always the same. When the tank is full and the pump clicks off, about a deciliter of fuel rushes out of the filler neck and runs down the fender, tire and the wheel.
I reported the problem to the dealer at the first scheduled service and got the usual: “We checked everything and couldn’t find anything wrong”. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, can you tell me how it was resolved? I tried to upload a video showing the problem but the upload procedure eneded up with errors. |

Your tank vent line may be plugged.

When you put the pump in do you push it all the way down? You are not holding up perhaps a bit higher so when it stops there is actually a bit more in the tank than would otherwise be there?
