Wondering if you all can help me out with picking the best tire upgrade for my 2019 M550i. I did a lot of searching and found good info, but with all the "being square" and "staggered sizes", I became quite confused. Its just that I am just tired of the damn potholes on Long Island causing bubbles in the factory tires, or something worse...
I am currently running 669M wheels in 20 x 8.5 ET35 and 20 x 10 ET45 and I'm looking to put either a 285/295 out back and maybe a 255/265 up front if possible? I have had good luck with the non-RF Michelin PS3 or 4 tires so I'd like to stay with those moving forward. I do not plan to lower in the future and I'm not against spacers, if need be. I just want a tire combination that won't cause my Xdrive to freak out that also offers a more aggressive look with a comfortable ride and less worries about the damn potholes. Thank you in advance for any helpful insight!

I wouldn't go wider rear tire if your not getting a wider rim. I put a set of 285 on mine and the tire looked to big for the rim The tire stuck past the lip of the rim and just never looked right. So I went back to my 275 in the rear. I had 255 in the front and it fit great and filled the wheel well nicely.

Thanks man! So that 10" wheel setup in the back is no good both fit and appearance wise for a 285?

SuperJackson, thanks man! Those were the sizes that I wanted to go with way before I even started searching other peoples setups. Just didn't wanna order them without first stating my wheel sizes and all that I was expecting of these tires.

Regardless, it's safe to assume that a 255/285 (or 295) and a 40/35 would work out for me in this particular instance?

If it's aftermarket 669m styled wheels with 8.5"+10", 255/35/20+295/30/20 is the maximum u can go with. If it's OEM 669m, it is 8"+9" and 245/40/20+275/35/20 is the maximum u can go with.

I was able to find out that these are in fact aftermarket 669M wheels that originated from the UK. Nevertheless, I have a much better idea of my tire options now. Well, outside of whether or not I would need spacers for the combinations referenced in this thread...
Again, I thank you all for the input!
