Depends on the runflats

I have Pirelli P7 Cinturato (A/S Grand Touring versions) on my 540i M sport w/19 inch wheels and while quiet and fairly compliant ride, the grip is awful in rain and slightly better in dry. We haven't had enough snow/slush to know how they work in winter but dry/cold traction is just OK. With only 13k miles and plenty of life remaining I'm looking at replacing with Michelin A/S3 non-runflats. Used max performance non-runflats for years on M3 and never needed the M Mobility kit. Have the spare in the 540i, so the non-runflats are my preferred replacement.

Had Bridgestone summer RFT on my old F30 340i and they had good grip but were noisey. Replaced those with Michelin PS4S that were much better grip and dramatically more compliant ride.

which Michelin's do you have? They are my preferred brand and I'm looking at A/S3 to replace the P7 RFT and don't feel like dealing with summer/winter tire sets.

My M550i came with the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics RFT. Awful. Loud, rough ride, could lose traction with ease. I replaced them with Michelin A/S3. The past couple of BMWs I had I've played the winter/summer tire game, which is best, but didn't want to do that this time on a lease. Couldn't be happier with the A/S3s. I ran the tail of the dragon two weeks ago with them, they only squealed twice...and I was pushing it very hard.

Great info. I've done the winter/summer tire swap too for the past 15 years because I did HPDE on MPSS/PS4S street tires. I just don't want to deal with it anymore since the 540i won't see track time. I'm getting the A/S3's next week. The P7 A/S's are borderline dangerous they have so little grip even on damp roads, much less with the heavy rains we've had this summer. And the A/S3 will be at least comparable in the milder winters we have.

The Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ have been on my car for about a week of limited driving. For reference, I'm on stock 19" 664M wheels and the 704 (passive) sport suspension and the car is RWD only. Compared to the P7 A/S runflats, ride quality and steering response is slightly improved, noise is about the same, but it's the traction that is vastly improved. Traction was most important to me since my dash light would flicker frequently in dry and wet under normal conditions. Now even when trying to break loose the rear tires it doesn't. Very pleased with this.
