Blackened M-Performance exhaust tips

I hope this is in the right forum.

I have a M-Performance exhaust with chrome tips on my '17 12,500 miles 540. They're really black and it looks like the chrome is damaged by what I presume is carbon.

Does anyone know how to clean these???

That's a pretty aggressive approach for chrome tips that may result in etching the finish

Perhaps start with a polish containing light cutting capability, apply and buff and repeat if necessary. Then finish with final polish with no cutting or cleaners

The key is to wash the tips as you would the rims during each wash to avoid build up

Mine looked pretty similar to yours. I used Autosol which cleaned them up, nearly as good as new
