Help, winters on G31 M Sport

Hi

Uk 530d Touring here with M Sport option running a staggered 19" set up

Id like to buy some winter wheels and tyres, preferably 18" (I have blue calipers)

Thing is the manual which to my great shame I read just says "ask dealer" when it comes to winters and as my local "expert" is a complete waste of time I figured a punt here worth a go

Am thinking of a square 245/45/18 kind of thing
This is mentioned on the pressure guide in the drivers door aperature so must be OK yeah?

And Sottozero's ????

Thanks

Yes, you should get 245/45/18 if you want 18s. I like the Michelin pilot alpin 5.

I ran my old F10 on Goodyear Vector4 G2 245/45 R18s and my 640D GC on Bridgestone A005 245/40 R19. Both tyres are classed as all season and both kept me moving in the snow.

I'm of the opinion that full winters are overkill in the UK and I live in one of the most snowy areas.

The Goodyear were quieter and better in the white stuff but the A005 had better dry grip.

Just got a G31 and this time I'm trying the new Vred Quatrac Pro on 19s.
