Exterior Cleaning Products

Any recommendations for cleaning products to reduce water marks after washing? It's my first black car and I'm it tough to avoid water marks or steaks if wiping with a towel. In the past, I've used a quick detailer which has worked.

Free, collect rainwater and rinse using a watertight can. One less step of wiping the paintwork and environmentally friendly. In the uk were have plenty of this free resource.

You can buy deionising cartridges to go in a hose too

Rainwater is ok if you live in an area with little or no air pollution (and of course as you note, enough rain so you can collect it). If so, you are lucky. If you are in an area like mine there is just enough air pollution from airplanes and other sources (that you otherwise would not notice) that rain can leave mineral deposits. A deionizer can work, for using a hose, as can a simple in line filter such as one used for pools and spas. If you have ceramic coating, most mineral deposits will wash right off,

I don't use water. Ever since we had water restrictions years back from drought conditions in San Antonio, I have been using Ecosmart RU waterless wash on all my cars. Cleans and waxes in one step. No swirl marks (has clay in the mix, actually kaolin and carnuba), works wonderfully, and is faster than a bucket and sponge. Chemicalguys.com. Believe they are a sponsor. Been using it since my 2007 Porsche.
