I don't believe they will automatically update you system when in for service unless there is an issue traced to that version. Will be interested to see if they do - I have heard that it is time consuming which may explain their lack of interest in doing it for free.

Did you do anything special to get the Garage Door button to show up? I also have the MyQ Bridge connected to Homekit, and it does not show up for me in iOS13 Developer Beta 2. The release notes do say that "The garage door button might not appear in the CarPlay Dashboard. (50275274)", so maybe I am just lucky (LOL).

It was there in beta one. I only saw it when I was in the maps application. I have beta 2 installed, let me check and get back to you. I usually just use my Apple Watch to open the garage door. Works flawlessly and you don't have to unlock your phone or push any buttons. Of course with iOS 13 you have the option to disable the requirement to unlock secure devices like doors.

I just did my first service last week and there wasn't an update to be done. Is there something other than the update option in the cars idrive menus?
A complete iDrive firmware update can't be done over the air. My car was built in November, so there's at least one revision since then.
FYI, based on a May and June build I've seen NBTevo_Q is latest.

Hey, I confirmed they the garage icon is not present in beta 2 like it was in beta 1; however, I was able to use the "Hey, Siri, open the garage" command without unlocking my iPhone or having to disable the security feature to authenticate secured devices.

In iOS 12 or earlier you had to unlock your phone to issue Siri commands to open things like doors. You can disable this in iOS 13, but In not sure why you would want to... if you had a HomePod near a window someone like issue a command to unlock the front door, etc. this security feature is not needed while connected to CarPlay since your device is already paired to your vehicle.

Thanks very much for the update! I appreciate you checking for me. Maybe it will return in Beta 3. Meanwhile, I will try using Siri from the car.

You're welcome. When a new major iOS version comes out, the beta cycle is usually every two weeks until mid-September when they release it alongside the new iPhones. That means beta 3 will probably be our next week.

Not sure this would work in full-screen mode. I haven't tried full-screen mode yet.

It was coded to go full screen first. iOS 13 public beta has just been released so now rather than now playing taking up the whole screen it has artwork on the right.

You can get it cheaper if you shop around. I got mine done through OEM Navigations. Once you pay for the license, they will send you instructions to download the update application which you can do whenever it's convenient for you. In other words, you do not have to set up remote coding with an individual. It's batched waiting for you to perform the update yourself. You will need an ENET cable if you have a G30. The update takes about 15 minutes.
