Cost to Insure M550

I’m curious what those of you who have an M550 pay each month. My agent just told me Safeco quoted $320/month even with my spotless driving record. I know it has to do with age and location, and I’m in a costly part of the country, but would love to know what others pay.

$341/month for mine. Up $5 a month when exchanged F10 M5 on policy from geico
This is the most I ever paid. When I was married and had plenty of speeding tickets 10 yrs ago at 32 I was paying $128/month for jaguar S type R(never will own another jag again!!) and same on 2008 E350 Benz. Hard to believe it's over doubled what I paid 10 yrs ago

We have the highest number of uninsured motorist claims in the country. The State needs to act to reel in the number of uninsured drivers, drivers with no liability coverage, etc. It's a shit show in FL.

Yes sir! It's crazy, imagine paying less than $100 a month for ins.? I have 100/300/100 with $500 deductible. The extra $240 a month could go towards the new M5 or in the bank

I thought I was paying a lot, at least for my state. $341/month is crazy. Maybe you need to look for new insurance.

I'm currently at $840 for 6 months ($140/mo) with Progressive pay in full discount. $300k CSL/$500 Collision/$100 Comprehensive. I'm 24 and married. No recent at-fault accidents, but 2 NOT at-fault claims.

What state are you in? Florida is notorious for bad rates. I checked they my works national group discounted company and no joke their quote was $690/month. Geico has been half what everyone else quotes down here. My fiancé pays $260 for her 18 Camry with perfect history, no tickets or claims.

About $2500 per year for me. $250 deductibles, full coverage, clean driving record, no prior claims.
I am located in South Florida where the rates are high.

I'm at $100/mo range. I have no history of tickets or accidents last 20 years. If it helps, I went from a 2017 340ix to a 2019 M550ix and it went up like $120 for the year. which is pretty flat considering it's a $25K more and 2 years newer. I'm with Travelers and it is my primary vehicle.

This is pretty much a useless thread.

There are so many variables dependent on the insured drivers (age, experience, ticket/accident, marital status, # of drivers), car itself, miles driven, location and coverage (and also multi-policy discounts and umbrella coverage). I doubt you can do any meaningful extrapolation/comparison based on other people's incomplete information.

If you are in California, there was a rather large increase in premium this year (especially if you have a clean record) due to a significant increase in claims in the state.

Jeez I thought mine was expensive. We pay around $2100/year but that covers an M550, Lexus IS, and Toyota 4Runner. 500k limits with comprehensive, add-on UI/UM, $1k deductibles on all three. We do have a multi-policy discount w/homeowners & umbrella.

Premiums in GA seem to climb every year. Not too long ago we were only paying $900/year for everything. Of course this was before we added a house and BMW to the mix.

But you save money on real estate, heating and clothing over there on Florida, no?
Seriously though, that's crazy money for car insurance....

I'm paying considerably less than most of what I'm reading here, but I also qualify for USAA. They tend to have lower rates than the big guys.

I don’t have my M550 yet but Allstate quoted me around $100/month. I have no accident or ticket history and I live in a relatively good driver area I guess. I’m 35.
