Easy exit

My steering wheel raises upon shutting the car off. Is there a way to get the seat to slide back at the same time.

It could be coded on the F30 series. I assume that it can be coded here as well but I don't know.

I've seen it as an option to be coded, however, at the time it was not working properly once coded. Not sure if its since been changed. You'd think it would be a feature without having to code it though. My old Escalade would do this as well as my F150.

I did have it coded on my prior 330e and it did work almost all the time.

My Genesis G80 and Infinity Q70 had that feature. I am surprised that BMW does not have it. After all it is just a software change.

I couldn't find anything in bimmercode. I just switched adapters to their new suggested one, but coding on my new M550 is much more limited compared to my F10 M5.

Would be cool, but you could crush passenger legs if they are tall and not expecting it

I love the feature. I have it on my 2016 Corvette but not on my 2019 BMW. Hard to figure why they wouldn't include it as it is just a software tweak. --Bob

Has anyone coded this in the expert mode of Bimmercode? If yes, could you please share it here? I have searched for some time with no luck. The closest is "slowspeed" on youtube but that is a 340 & the coding layout is different.

TIA.

I second the request, am looking for this as well. Just got bimmercode and so far I've been able to successfully do the following :

Interior Ambient Lighting
Start car in Sport Individual
Comfort Plus (expert mode)

Slightly off point. My 2018 530e is in the shop for the PHEV battery replacement. My dealership gave me a 2019 Cadillac XTS as a loaner and it has easy exit but the seat doesn't go back when I turn on the car. I have to stretch reach the brake pedal to turn on the car.

When my prior BMW (2016 330e) was coded for easy exit it included the slide back to the memorized seat setting.

The Caddy XTS does return the seat back to the programmed driver position. Something must be up with the way that loaner is setup. Maybe seat memory isn't set for the key or its locked out (like in guest mode)?

I heard (from a BMWNA staff member at one of the drive events) BMW stopped with easy exit due to some rear passengers complaining about feet/toes/knees getting pinched. The Caddy XTS has more rear legroom and the seat sits higher than a BMW to help alleviate the feet pinching issue.

The Caddy is doing some weird things but I will only have it for a week or three so I will live with it. I pressed the memory button on the door and then button #1 and got the two beeps so I thought that would take the seat back to my setting, but it didn't.

I also find that every time I restart the car, the driver side mirror goes back to the setting before I adjusted it. So I have to readjust in each time I start the car.

There are some nice features in the Caddy but, overall, I much prefer my loaded 530e.

I wish this was hard coded into the car, but for now I just program seat position #2 for my ease of entry/exit. It's working out fine for me.

For some people, spending some time in the gym alleviates the need for easy exit. Lol

Kidding, kind of... I know some people have legitimate issues where easy exit would be useful.

Good call. Very simple and just hit the button.
I do that with my mirrors sometimes as I live in a condo and the garage spots are a little tight.

My 2018 530e is in the shop for hybrid battery replacement. My loaner is a 2019 Cadillac XTS and it does have easy exit, entry. But it doesn't let me fold the side mirrors with a button, doesn't let me close the trunk with a button, etc.

My point is that different makers provide different functions and do so differently. One has to decide what is important to you and what is not and one's budget and then find the car that comes closest.
