I am a new 540i Xdrive owner and would like to replace the stock 19 inch wheelset with a new one.

I found great looking alloys which are 8,5 wide and therefore I could fit 245/40R19 tires on them, which I think would be fine.

However when I talked to the local tire shop the guy over there was a little worried that the 245/40/R19 tires on the rear will look to small/narrow for this type of car.

I would really value your opinions on this subject? Has anyone gone for the straight setup in 245/40R19 front and back and does it look ok? Post a picture if you have.

There are validated tyre sizes, look in the driver door

Don't take chances with tyre size with xdrive transfer case

According to my understanding the 245/40/R19 is a BMW validated tire size, so you can use them in front and rear, but my question is will the rear tires look normal or too small for a car this size?

The standard setting from factory for the 19 is 245/40R19 front and 275/35R19 in the back.

I have a 2018 540d xdrive msport that came with 245/40/19 square setup from the factory. They look great imo. I replaced the Goodyears with PS4's btw.

Get 255s on those new alloys and you won't have to worry about this 😬
