Bulge on Bridgestone front tyre and tyre inflation kit
In Australia we get Potenza S007 tyres and the left front on my M550i has a sidewall bulge. Unsure of when I hit the pothole, but annoyingly I can't get a replacement for 4-6 weeks so the car is sort of undrivable as the bulge is bad.
So putting on Pilot 4s non-run flats as there are no other runflat options. There is a lot of front end grip already but will be interesting to compare with the Pilots. That leaves me with the included tyre inflation kit and goop can. Has anyone ever used these? I have an aftermarket on from my old 135i that I ran without run flats for 10 years with only nails/screws (aka slow puncture) so never used it. I will keep the drivers side tyre as a spare as the car has only 2000miles on it and hence the tyre is in great shape. Once stock returns I may swap back to the Bridgestones. |

New tyres on, I think they have a smidge more grip than the old ones. The big surprise is how low the original tyres were given the low mileage. Maybe the fronts work bloody hard compared to the rears as I’d say the fronts were 50% worn vs the rears maybe 20%.
