I did go 295 fit no issues.

This is the size to go with IMO

I did it today, got new rear tires installed (bridgestone potenzas s0001), in 295/35/20 and they fit perfectly. No rubbing at all and they look aggressive and wide

I had 21” wheels for 5 summers. The wheels that I used were bmw oem style 629 off G12 or G32. They looked and fit great. You do feel that the car isn’t as nimble due to their weight. First summer I had RFT tire sizes 245/35/21 and 275/30/21 which never rubbed. They didn’t last long, last 4 summers I was using tire sizes 255/35/21 and 295/30/21 but that rubbed in the front sometimes. The other thing is they’re way too heavy, fronts weighed 64lb and rears were 71lb. Also tire choices are very limited and are almost double the cost of 20” tires.

I sold them and I got 669m wheels but gonna be using 245/40/20 and 275/35/20 tire size for extra rim protection. Those weight 52lb and 54lb. I will be adding spacers too.

Thanks for the insight. Maybe should’ve asked that question before I got the 21’s

I’m curious about this setup on a 21 M550 also. If I go this route I don’t want any rubbing and would it void the warranty?

Hi all! Just created an account to thank everyone in this thread for helping me to choose my new rims and tires.

For rims i went with Arceo Valencia matte black. For tires i had go with Continental Sport Contact 7 (because Michelin Pilot Sport 4 was not available obviously ).

Front tires: 255/35/20
Front rims: 20" 9J 35 offset

Rear tires: 295/30/20
Rear rims: 20" 10J 40 offset

I think this is ideal setup. No need for spacers, no need for shorter springs (because bigger wheels fill the arches quite well), no rub issues (even when i turn front wheels all the way). And this sizes did not cause any problems with XDrive.

New wheels made a lot of difference imo. I was running 20" individual rims. Car went from looking like daily commuter to a intimidating mean machine. What can i say, i'm happiest guy right now. I just can stop smiling when i look at my car.

Just a quick heads up: if you have M sport brakes option from factory you will need 5mm spacers and longer bolts in front.

is this a xdive?

Good looking setup hoomie! Could you take a couple more pics of the rear. On pictures it looks like the rear is poking out a bit or maybe its just the angle.

Would you rub if you lowered it just a tab bit you think?

I went up 245/40/20 f and 275/35/20 and man it’s such a overall better experience for this car. Those trash Goodyear run flats will have you wondering why did I buy this car. Went with the Pirelli P-Zero A/S plus 3 regular tire.So far so good, feels luxurious.

Fills out the wheel well nicely

Thanks to all the G30 legends in this thread over the years with solid advice on wheel and tire sizes! With this info I was able to dial in just what I was looking for. Like several others who posted here, I went with 255/35/20 in the front and 295/30/20 in the rear for my xDrive 540i. Such a great setup; it looks and fits and drives amazing!

For further reference to anyone reading this down the road, my wheels in these photos are (F) 20x9 et30 offset and (R) 20x10.5 et44 offset.

This was the one question that was not answered in this thread, so I just took a chance and intalled the KW v3 coilover suspension at the same time as the wheels and tires. Everything fits beautifully! I am about 4 cm lowered in these pics and have plenty of travel room and can go lock to lock with no rubbing or touching. I chatted with the installer and he said the coilovers could even be set lower, but we agreed to leave it where it is for now to see if there is any settling.

The odometer is more in sync with my GPS apps than it was with the previous tires, no adjustments needed

Hey guys I'm running a staggered set up on my 2021 540i but I have been dealing with constant vibration past 65 mph, I've had them balanced multiple times, aligned, I even got the right hub ring size 66.6 mm which fit perfectly. My tires are brand new PILOT AS4s and the tire set up is 245/35/20 with 8.5 in rims in the front and 275/30/20 with a 9.5 in rim in the back, what is causing the vibration?
