BMW 5 Series (Pre-LCI) - Black grill

Hi Everyone!
I know a popular mod is to replace the stock silver grills on the pre-LCI 5'er with the double or single black grills.

A couple of questions:
What do you guys prefer matte black or shiny black?! Any pictures?!

I'm having a hard time decide!

Thanks for the feedback!

I went with the genuine ones which only come in glossy back.

They are also very easy to replace, compared to older 5 series, it’s literally a 90 second job.

Looks great! I think I'll go with glossy black double slat!

Same here!! From eBay as well and happy with it now!
I'm trying to black everything out. Just finished the window trims.

Could use some black rims.

How did you do the window trim. Fyi the side vents should be very easy, snap off with bare hands, and buy off black ones from getbmwparts for a bit less than $100. Snap right on

I wanted to do black shadowline trim from BMW but it's like 1500-3k here in Canada + install. Instead did 3M Vinyl wrap on the trim and door handles (which for some reason has chrome on older G30s). I paid a professional wrap place to do it, I would say it's 97% perfect!

Silver vents already ordered! And the yellow side markers are in the mail!

looks great. personally, I'm not a fan of black rims on black cars, but it's just me. I do like black rims on white cars though. they just pop, on a black car they kind of disappear.
And I find it odd you had to wrap your door trim...you have the M package and I assume (probably wrong) that all M package cars come with shadowline trim, mine did. I also did the reflector delete/painted route on the front bumper and the rear bumper. Painted the front ones myself and wrapped the rear ones, pretty easy job. I can't wrap window trim, tried it on an Audi once, looked awful! I don't have the patience or the skill set apparently.
