Installed new wheels.
I just installed my new wheels. They are 20" Avante Garde M520-R with 20x9 et25 front and 20x10.5 et38 rear with 245/35 and 285/30 Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ tires. Those are the size and offset that many have recommended on the forums. What do you think? I'm getting used to the look. I've never had wheels and tires this flush and aggressive before. Should I eventually lower the car?

If they don't rub, they fit. There isn't really a 100% answer. Do you like to look? It's your car, so if you like it, who cares what others think.

I'm going through the same thing. I ordered 20x9 and 20x0.5 on a 540i. I'm trying to decide on offset, going with 255/35 and 295/30.
Since I'm not lowering the car, I may stick with +30 or 32 up front and +42 or 44 in the rear. |

Hmmm...something looks off and I can't put my finger on it. It almost looks like the fronts are bigger in size than the rears. In terms of lowering, I actually thought it already was lowered. I'm just not a fan of the wheel itself I think. Sorry!

I think it looks really nice and you shouldn't lower it if that's your choice. I would of went with a 295 30 rear tire.

OP - I have been having the exact same thoughts on my spec...
20x9 et25 - 255/35/20 20x10.5 et35 - 285/30/20

I originally had Continental Dws06+ 255/35 and 295/30 installed but they looked too meaty and stuck out too far. It might have just been that tire but it didn't look good at all. Switching to 245 and 285 looks way better and sportier. That's the recommended tire sizes also from Getyourwheels.com and the place that milled the wheels.

Would I be able to lower the car without rubbing with this spec?

It depends how much you lower it. It looks really nice the way it sits now. You could lower maybe 1-2 inches more, but I would roll the rear fender a little bit just in case.

A good point was brought up about rear steer, you might have issues if you lower it more with rear steering. |

I share the feeling. Nearly same size/offset (10.5"ET40) on my car, and I think it's too agressive. That said, most people will not notice, and many like the agressive look. So, in the end, why not?
I would not lower the car, I think it's perfect like this. You could consider having the rear camber adjusted at max negative recommended value by BMW, but I don't know if it would make a big difference.
